Yay
I’m looking to build a 7.62×39 ARP any tips or recommendations
I’m wanting to put together my first AR, emphasis on put together bc I don’t have the tools to attach barrels, properly atake screws or whatever it takes, nor the experience. I’d like a really basic retro early 90’s military style CAR type weapon, basic milspec parts, phosphate everything, (preferably the BCG hard chromed) and either a carbine or mid length gas system (what do YOU recommend for reliability-the main consideration) I don’t care if it can hit MOA, 2 MOA is ok or whatever the military specs. I want a carry handle, classic military style handguards and A2 flash suppressor. I would PREFER it to be able to mount a bayonet. Just plain and simple-I might put a light and maybe optics or a holosight, that’s it. KISS style. I had a Mini 14 years ago and I miss the simplicity and lack of small parts, my first rifle was an SKS so something simple is my preference.
What caliber should my first AR-15 be 5.56 or 7.62×39?
In terms of research and guides, where can I find some good sources?
Which Aero scope mount are you using for your Trigicon scope? I bought the same scope, but there are so many different styles of Aero scope mounts I don't know which is the best one to get. Do I get the SPR, extended, or standard?
If you wanted to have the ultimate all around/home defense AR15 and your budget is $2000 total. That's for the rifle and optics. Would it be better to build or buy? I plan to keep the optics under $400 so I can invest $1600 on the rifle.
Noob question: Will a BCM upper fit an M4E1? Like drop fit no modifications?
Built my first one, then 3 more on Friday. Shot all of them and they actually cycled. I was surprised as hell.
Just fully assembled my first AR. I put together the lower by myself while watching a YouTube video. Nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be. Only air mailed 2 springs and they both landed within 4 feet of me. But now that I’ve put it together I know exactly how it works. Incase of a malfunction, I know what the problem is. I bought an assembled upper from PA so I don’t know exactly how to assemble an upper but seems way easier than assembling a lower. Is this considered a “build” since I put an assembled upper on it? Lol
Hey Clint i went on vimeo and I couldn’t find the video for the ar build
Man, is there like a PC parts picker website but for ARs?
Use a credit card to hold the detention spring in place while screwing on the buffer tube! Makes life a whole lot easier 😂
my trick for the front pin – needle nose to push it in and a feeler gauge to hold it down while you slide the pin in. Worked quite well.
Create a how to video and post a link to a Google Drive or something. Easy.
My first build I’m going to build the lower myself and buy a complete upper 10.5 barrel with 12” quad rail then when I get ready fully build a ar-9 to go with my Glock 19
Great video.. looking forward to build my very first AR 😀
Buy lots of spare parts. I'm not a gunsmith. But ive built stripped uppers and lowers (approx 6 lowers and 10 or so uppers.) Wait for specials and deals. Go home depot or lowes and look for a 1/4" clevis pin. I believe thats the correct size. It will make life so easy with the receiver pin. I learned that from someone on youtube. Wish I could give him credit but idk the title of his video anymore. Buy the correct tools unless your mechanically incline. Finally, buy well known products. Faxon, aero, bcm, FN, spikes, lmt, DD, magpul, WMD, midwest indus., are my go to brands for most things. There are others but off the top of my head thats all I can remember. Dont cheap out on optics. If you gotta save then save.
Hehe. Currently single. No wife or lady friend to complain about my ever-growing collection.
It's not a build unless you do everything except the pin and weld.. if you need to pin and weld
Zoom in when trying to show us things cause you say to look at something & half the time we can’t see what it is
300 black out 8 inch barrel… fun… 6.5 grendel, 10’inch barrel with pistol length gas system… sheesh… h3 buffer and adjustable gas block
Hey Clint, can u post the link for your mark18 front grip? I have an angled front grip but I’m thinking I might like a vertical grip better.
I never thought wood would look so good on an Ar. That thing is sexy 🔥
I built the first AR that I purchased and it was fairly simple. But I have a mechanical background. But I’m curious to see if anyone else purchased a High Point Carbine in .45 ACP and what you have done to make it a bit lighter? Besides the bull pup kit which I am considering
What do you think about 80% Arms? I just got my Ar 15 lower milled out and parts kit installed. I haven't really seen any of them in videos circulating, but looks to be a good lower.
I bought my first AR 15 the Ruger AR-556 last month so this videos definitely helped
When dealing with a front pin Allen wrenches are your friend
Saw a video to simplify detent installation in the front pivot pin using a clevis pin. Insert clevis pin then put the spring, and detent through the hole, push in with a punch and rotate. Slide out the clevis pin while inserting the pivot pin. I keep using a thin guitar pick, but maybe I will remember to look for a clevis on my next Home depot visit. Think the pin is a .245" diameter.
