I only see this being bought by die hard CMMG fanboys & maybe people who are already invested in 5.7, but I just don't see it taking off when there are options like the Foxtrot Mike FM15 which offer a forward side charger and "compact action" without sacrificing ballistic integrity. They have a 16" rifle and an 11.5" pistol. You can buy the entire gun for much cheaper than just the CMMG upper…. and that's including the additional tax for a finished firearm, too.
CMMG needs to price their products accordingly, although they should probably worry more about the split between order placed & product arrival rather than bringing a "new" product to market
I just want the upper but knowing CMMG is going to be like 1200 msrp.

Hmm, $1900 msrp. Going to be a hard sell when you can get a Rattler for $2000-2500. If they can get it under $1500 they'd have a chance.
Charging handle is an issue. It basically doubles the thickness. Thickness on a bag/ truck gun is a serious consideration. It needs a folding option.

I wish they would have left dust cover on. It would keep lube from bolt carrier off the inside of the bag as well as bag lint out.
