Magpul MOE SL HandGuard for the AR15, Review & Installation

There a version that extends past the gas block on top also? I have a low pro gas block that needs covered from top and bottom

THIS WILL NOT FIT RIFLES WITH TRIANGULAR HANDGUARD RETAINERS. It will only fit rifles with circular retainers. I spent two frustrating hours trying to get a semicircle to fit into a triangle until I figured out what the problem was.

I wanted to see you struggle with the Delta ring, why deprive us of the awkward struggle.

Yeah my hands are wrecked. Emailed a local shop cuz I gave up lol

I'm a noob to ars but I just put the sl on my mp15 sport 2. It took about 5 mins. To remove the old handguard the swivel and install the magpul sl without a delta ring tool and no injuries.

I was having issues getting mine in the whole reason you look at videos is to see if there was something I was missing in the frustrating process

This did nothing to help to much going off screen to do it you got to show it all the good with the bad lol

Question: Will it fit over the sling swivel if you simply lift the sling swivel up and forward out of the way? Is it wide enough on the inside to do that?

If so, you wouldn't have to remove the sling swivel. Of course, you wouldn't be able to use that sling swivel, but at least you wouldn't have to take it off.

Boy hes not kidding when he says he had to fight with it, i nearly broke mine trying to force it lol i finally gave up and paid someone to do it at a shop lol

Fyi you must cut off or remove the oem front sling swivel.

will the sl handguard fit a m&p sport II OR. I’m about to cut my hands open on it lol. It has the CT 103 optic and not the A2 sights or magpul sights. It’s almost on there but quite the bitch! I have the carbine model.

wish you or someone who shows the instalation "but never show the instalation" but at least take a shot of the front of the handguard and how tight it is to the front gas block/front sight and the front ring that it locks into. why does no one show his?????

I bought mine yesterday and it's a little trouble trying to fit it on but once you have the tops in it goes in easy.

I bought one a week ago and STILL haven't been able to fit it onto a Ruger AR 556 carbine. Sorry, Magpul. My first experience with your products very well may be my last. THIS IS A TERRIBLE DESIGN!

I watch all your vids. I have the original MOE Guards and love them. Not only would I never want these, but, they are not as appealing looking as the originals. Not that it matters to me but, the Bayo Lug is now rendered worthless as well as the forward sling swivel. Thanks for the excellent review.

Does the Ruger AR 556 use Carbine,MidLength,or SL handguards??

Get an mlok slot cover for the front, bottom slot. If you dont, because its directly under tge gas block and unshielded, it gets very hot very quickly. Mine got too hot to hold with just two mag dumps.

The mlok system is the biggest pain in the ass to put on….

Just put mine on my rifle, what a PITA, you're right once they are on they are not coming back off!   finish,fit and looks are top notch IMO
