Most of those of us that own modular rifles like the ar, m4 and AK. Agree with training and mental health flagging dangerous people before buying any gun. But not without due processes. And holding gun manufacturers responsible for death of any kind? Are you going to hold knife, bat, karate instructor's and auto manufacturers responsible also? Also why are most democrats against hardening schools? Is it because eventually children will grow up and see that one or two trained law abiding citizens guarding them is a good thing. And tall fences and security protocol that may be scary at first is a comfort after you drop the naritive and fear tactics. Fact is if you hate guns you don't actually want to do "everything" to stop violence. And look at the many criminals that are released on low bail that are the perpetrators of these crimes. Also how did a punk kid that works a part time job like the uvalde shooter afford two of the most expensive rifles on the market. The daniel defense rifle alone was 2000 dollars. What's the whole story? Drop the naritive and find a solution instead of politicization of things you know won't work. For God sakes even we support most of the bipartisan bill that is mentioned in June 2nd presidential address on this. But going after manufacturers of any product just is insane. Comparing tobacco laws to every other "right" its just not going to happen.

Unless the AR-15 just became a hand gun, you are lying, over 70% of mass shootings are done with a hand gun.

The cops in this situation performed as perfectly as could be possibly expected. The timeline was just a few minutes from the time they were notified of the shooter to when they entered the building and confronted the shooter, in fact if this was a drill and the practiced dozens of times they probably couldn't have performed better…yet five people still died before they got their. So even ignoring the incompetence of the guy roleplaying as the Police Chief of a school district in Texas, when you do everything perfectly and so many people still die, you need to start focusing on prevention of the event itself, not a better reaction to it after it happens, and the easiest way to prevent this event is if this guy couldn't grab a weapon of war the same day he wanted to go on a killing spree.

Well not only does it make wannabe soldiers look Cool but it has a muzzle velocity of 2000 mph (3X the speed of sound), can be fitted with a nightscope, a bump stock (making it fully automatic) and carry a 100 round magazine clip not only for maximum damage but apparently "home protection" as well. And the most recent estimate is that there are at least 10 million of them in the hands of US civilians. So it's no wonder the NRA calls it "America's Rifle". More like America's Nightmare.
