I know it’s not an AR-15 but my opinion is hands down the AR-10 in 308 with Aero Precision parts.

My favorite was for my first pistol build. Aero upper, gas block and tube, 11.5" Rosco 5.56 barrel, BCM extended birdcage, Midwest handguard. BCG was Aero (phosphate) and charge handle was BCM.
