Extreme animal rights groups are busy pushing their agenda in Montpelier this session, and lawmakers are poised to act on several bills attacking our hunting heritage in the Green Mountain State.  A couple of these bills may appear subtle, but make no mistake, the proponents pushing this legislation support a complete ban on hunting and trapping.  Please contact committee members and ask them to OPPOSE S.201, S.129, and S.281.

On Thursday and Friday, the Senate Natural Resources and Energy Committee will continue to work on these bills.  S.201 will ban trapping, S.129 will dismantle the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Board, and S.281 will ban coyote hunting using dogs.  Friday, March 11 is “crossover,” a self-imposed deadline the Legislature follows for passing bills out of their chamber of origin.

Supporters of these bills will want them to advance this week, so it is imperative that Vermont sportsmen take action today!  Please contact members of the committee immediately, and respectfully ask that they oppose these bills.
