NRA-ILA | Arizona: House to Reconsider Self-Defense for Young Adults

Yesterday, House Bill 2489, to ensure that young adults are not deprived of their right to self-defense, failed to pass in the House. Bill sponsor Rep. Justin Wilmeth has already asked for the House to reconsider the bill. Please contact your state Representative and ask them to SUPPORT HB 2489 on reconsideration.

House Bill 2489 creates a Provisional Concealed Weapons Permit for adults aged 18-20 years old. Adults aged 18-20 are old enough to vote, serve on a jury, serve in the military, and enter into contracts. It is unreasonable for the law to discriminate against them by preventing them from exercising a fundamental right to defend themselves and their families.

Again, please contact your state Representative and ask them to SUPPORT HB 2489 on reconsideration.

Don’t forget to forward this alert to your family, friends, and fellow gun owners, urging them to contact their state Representative TODAY. Help HB 2489 continue through the legislative process to provide further Second Amendment protections in Arizona.
