In a tale of two returns, the recently revamped Bushmaster brand launched their new modular BA30 straight-pull bolt-action rifle just in time to showcase the firearm this week at the first SHOT Show in Las Vegas since January 2020. Already well known for their popular AR-15 rifles, it’s fitting that Bushmaster’s entrance into the straight-pull game came as a very unique and customizable AR-style bolt gun.

She’s so cringe
Good stuff. Curious operational cycle. I liked the spring-forward bolt.
Does anybody know if the bolt handle is ambidextrous?
👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸☕️☕️
And it's only what, two, three grand? The gun industry is not for us to maintain our rights it is meant to impoverish us. How many guns can you carry at one time while under fire?
Bushmaster Engineers: "We are having serious problems getting our AR-10 prototype to cycle reliably."
Marketing Team: "Don't worry about it! There are plenty of dumb/borderline mentally retarded people in the world…We'll call it a "Spring Assisted Straight-Pull Bolt-Action" and sit back as the barely sentient mouth-breathers praise how "innovative" it is.
Engineers: "No one is that dumb."
Marketing Team: "Oh, I think you'd be surprised…".
Looks like a brn-180 in an ar-10 platform lower
This rifle only benefits those who live in Australia because semi-automatic rifles are not legal in Australia.
That's why I had to go with Windham Weaponry because Bushmaster was the best
Great for assassination
I like that BA 30 it is very innovative. I do not have a use for it but I like it. Now What I want from Bushmaster is for them to release the ACR 5.56/223 now that would be something worth innovating
Perfectly Australia and UK legal by the way.
Super
Curious, what is the advantage of having bolt action over semi-auto in this configuration?
Ok that's all and good. Now here's the Million dollar question. How reliable will it be?? You can tout that this gun will be good and everything. However A lot of people know Bushmasters track record hasn't been exactly stellar. Cause and point the ACR. A gun with a promising future that is until Bushmaster/Remington got a hold of it and failed to deliver on there promises. So I'm going to have to wait and see how the gun holds up before I drop a fat stack of money on one.
Nice
Make this available as an upper that can be used with any AR-10 lower and you will have an incredibly popular product.
