I own a V8 S2W. It came with a 15” quad picatinny that I loved at first. Two weeks ago I finally decided to swap it out to a Geissele Super Duper Modular Super MK14 Super 🧐 Rail.
When removing the tiny bolts on my DD rail two of them were seized and I tried heat, and when that didn’t work I tried Kroil and that didn’t work either. I ended up stripping out both bolts and had to cut a slot in them and take them out with a flat head. I wish they had used bigger hardware on the older rails.

I'm not a fan of Quad-rails because they are heavy. Once I put all my toys on the rifle its starts to get a little heavy. I don't need all that rail like in a quad-rail. I prefer to try to keep my sat ups with the less weight as posable. I know quad-rails are strong and durable, but I like a rail as long as I can put on a rifle without blowing the end up with a brake on the end. If I were to get a quad-rail 15" or longer the weight would be a little much to carry around. I don't want my setup ending up 20 lbs. I'm not trying to put anyone down. Everybody has there own setups. I just want my gear to be as light as possible. I'm starting to get up in age. I leave the heavy hauling to the younger guys with less mileage. I'm like and old pickup truck. I got a lot of miles and I have a lot of dents and a lot wear and tear, but I keep on sputtering down the road.
The best quad rail? Is the one you removed and placed in the dusty spare parts box. My opinion.
🙅🏾♂️best to keep quality double heat shielded handguards, cut the rail sections even smaller to cut weight cause when it comes to heat 🔥can’t shoot what ya can’t hold 🤣remember KISS, classic 12-10.5 and dissipators shoot all day
