Here’s a short video of my slug gun. It has the Shurshot synthetic stock, a fluted and pinned barrel, a weaver rail for optics and a Nikon Prostaff scope mounted with Warne rings. Outstanding slug gun!

  1. Nice quality setup. Surprisingly comfortable and very accurate shotgun as the traditional 870 everyone loves. I prefer the Nikoplex instead of BCD and I use Premier Accutip Slugs with this exact model.

  2. I'm going to pick up my 870 Supermagnum 28" tomorrow. I'm getting a 23" slug barrel for it also for slaying hogs in Estonia and I'll put a rail and a red dot sight on top of it. I already ordered the Hogue stock kit for too. Your weapon is a very nice looking package I have to admit. That long fluted barrel looks good and probably gives pretty nasty velocities as well 😉

  3. are the scopes easy to mount? I just bought a rifled barrel and scope combo. I thought it came premounted on the barrel, but after looking at yours, i dont think it does. I also got a stock/forend like yours(black)with a mag extension.

  4. I would call back and tell them it's the screw that pins the barrel on to the receiver on the new model. I went to the web site and the owners manual was for a generic 870 and didn't show the screw. I searched for my owners manual, but I can't find it. Keep trying!

  5. I was wondering if I can order that screw that holds in the barrel on the reciever because I misplaced the one on my gun…… I call remington and they said there is no screw there but I told them there was and they put me on hold and never got back to me

  6. I like Nikon scopes a lot, but the BDC reticle doesn't seem to be necessary on a slug gun. I would go with a 2X7 scope with a normal reticle since most shots will be within 100 yards and you can just put the cross hairs right on the target.

  7. No. I bought some Warne scope rings and mounted the Nikon Prostaff 2X7 BDC scope myself. It's a pretty sturdy setup. Since most of my shots will be within 100 yards, the BDC reticle was probably a mistake.
