If AR stands for ArmaLite and NOT Automatic Rifle, then why don’t the manufactures put that on the weapon instead, as ArmaLite-15? It seems to me it would create less confusion.

People should pay more attention to the mental health of some of these killers. Many have had previous contacts with our police or are convicts who should never own a weapon.
Just ban mags with more than 5 bullets and auto firing mode.
I think the first step to this solution is change the acronym "AR" to BR or CR or DR…..ZR.

No military that gave a half a f#<k about their soldiers would arm them with an AR-15. M-16, yes. Not a semi only rifle.
I carry a military handgun (Sig Sauer M-17) everyday. Even that weapon, that IS used by the military, has never assaulted anyone.
Finally some real truth instead of lies. David Briley and other learned officials like him are not ignorant. They know the AR is not an assault rifle or a weapon of war but they want to redefine it that way so they can eliminate freedom and the Bill of Rights. That is their real goal. Gun control is dead but they keep on pushing it. There are far more ghost guns that know one knows about let alone trace than those factory guns bought from gun dealers. Gun control has no answer to the ghost gun made at home. They know this but they keep pushing to eliminate every right of freedom. Its not about eliminating guns its about eliminating freedom.
