  1. What I learned about hunting with an AR after doing it for three years was that I didn't like hunting with an AR. It's bulky, rattly and not the easiest thing to stalk with. I took three deer with it (in 450 bushmaster) and switched to a Ruger No 1 in 450 bushmaster, which I greatly prefer. I'm not getting rid of my AR's, just hunting will be with my Ruger.

  2. We load up at the truck before entering the woods. Also, ambi safeties for the win. I push down with my thumb and let the safety ride my trigger finger knuckle down into fire so it is almost perfectly silent. Works for left or right handers.

  3. People really overthink the concept of just doing something SLOWLY so it doesn't make noise. "Bro you're so stealthy!" Lol no he simply didn't do ANYTHING in a hurry or with haste.

Slow TF down and you'll be surprised how quiet that AR can be.

  4. Why not use the safety between tour ears? including point in a safe direction and keep your finger away from the trigger. I get going through heavy briars, yes unload the gun. Practice safety folks!!!

  5. Small game is about the only thing i would be using a AR platform for. By the time they would hear any of that….a crack of a bullet would already be down range.
And before you say it. A 5.56 is too small to hunt deer with humanely!!!

  6. I actually used my Stag-15 to kill two Bucks, One was killed by my Grandfather and one by me opening Day of Gun Season… First one was mine shot at 100 or so yards with a Romeo 5. His was shot from 20 yards and both had internal bleeding and there was no blood splatter or trail to both deer but once we found them and opened them up we could see it was all internal. Both were shot with 223 Deer XP by Winchester.

  7. I’m not a huge hunter or anything, but I’ve tried my hand at deer hunting several times and the thought never even crossed my mind to leave my vehicle without a round already in the chamber, no matter what weapon I had with me that day. Am I the odd one out here? Still an interesting video topic, regardless.

  8. Mines already loaded with a full mag before I leave the house so after that the only noise I have to worry about is the safety click. If I'm dropping mags that's the last noise I'm worried about since there were just 10-30 very loud booms! 😂

  9. This is a serious question since I've never been hunting. Are there certain regulations where you have to carry on an empty chamber? The only action taking place should be flicking off the safety, since there should be a round in the chamber ready to go. If you have a 30 round magazine and still need to perform a mag change you should probably be back at the range learning to shoot before you maim the animal instead of giving it a clean kill or shoot someone else

  10. After taking the time, being extremely careful and successfully achieving the desired silent manipulation of your rifle, sighting in on a magnificent buck, your cell phone that you forgot to mute rings.

  11. Be sure you really push the forward assist hard a few times. I made this mistake just over the weekend deer hunting. I pushed the forward assist after trying to chamber quietly. I should have giving the forward assist a little bump with the heel of my hand. Pulled the trigger nothing. Lesson learned. Good information. The sling connection is noisy.

  12. A weapon of war for hunting? Nah…this weapon is meant for killing and lots of killing quickly.
Just get a shotgun, grab grand dad's double barrel and use that. Just get a shotgun.
