How many of yall use a BOG Pod in the field for hunting and or Target Practice? Let me know!
Good video. Thanks.
Thanks for the review man. So, with lacking the ability to tilt or cant the rifle, what are your thoughts about shooting off uneven terrain? Maybe shooting off a slope? I am guessing the ability to adjust the legs… You know, I think I just need to buy one and figure it out. Again, thanks for your review man!!!
Great video. Helped me decide which one to order.
I bought one and didn't like the way the saddle head wouldn't hold up my rifle. I have a 9.6lbs rifle and unless you spend time carefully balancing the rifle in the saddle is will easily sag backward all the way to the stop. Okay for a budget tripod but I wouldn't recommend it if you're planning to do precision shooting….probably not what it was design for anyway.
thanks for the video to make my mind. just placed order for the regular one.

Maybe a dumb question but I’ve been looking into getting one of these tripods but I was wanting to use it for filming and my question is can you take the head off and swap it out for a fluid head? I’m wanting to put a manfrotto 501 fluid head on it and can’t seem to find the proper information on if the head is removable or not
Great Video. Great intellect and professionalism. Best reviewer I’ve seen so far. Very detailed also. Must subscribe 🤙🏼
I really like the look of the carbon fiber legs on the tri[pod. I happen to like the camouflaged one as well. My point is if it is that cold wear some gloves. Or get the carbon fiber one.
Before you buy consider these points! One: The panning collar has 4 speed bumps on it. N-S-E-W So in your panning you will have to deal with this. Why this even exists is beyond me. Cameras don't need it, I have never needed this for tracking at targets. Two: The Grip is made of plastic and pot metal. It doesn't inspire confidence when you put a $3k plus rig in it's care. One more point I had to tape the red collapse buttons to add confidence. In my book that's 3 strikes! Better luck with yours!
I've had my Aluminum version for a year and I like it. They have a camo version too now. I kinda wish I had the Carbon fiber version sometimes.
Do you think this thing is capabLe of holding an AR15 at home for very long periods of time or do you think one of the components would give
I use the predator tactics deadeye tripod. It's around $250 but it's about 3 pounds lighter. It will pivot and it also has the ability to be fine tuned to your height easier with the center column that adjusts. But it can only be mounted to a picatinny rail. In my opinion that is it's biggest shortcoming.
Magic Carbon
I recently got a aluminum unit. Noticed you clamp your rifle in one direction to the jaws. Others clamp the other direction. Is there s correct way. Seen bog pictures that show the red decals toward the rear.
One other point that may be of interest: I've heard that the aluminum legs, if they get a dent in them, can loose their ability to telescope in and out (this is from a guy who let his tripod rattle around in the back of his pickup). The carbon fiber supposedly is resistant to denting, and the legs continue to telescope smoothly.
Love my bog! What rifle is that?
I have the original one i love it , my 6.5 grendel a r with a ATN thor thermal 1500 range finder is a little heavy coming in at 11,2 pds but this bad boy holds it up no problem. If you hate missing a coyote as bad as i do because your a old fart like me and I'm not as steady but since I got this tri pod I've not missed since, i couldn't see giving $50 more for 1 pd difference but that's me. Something else when zeroing your scope in ,this is all you need it keeps wherever you put it ,i love mind ,wouldn't go hunting with anything else and i have owned bi pods tri pods and i haven't seen anything yet that will compare to it ,probably will be the last tri pod that i will ever own
I have the regular one. Love it for coyote and fox stands. Would recommend.
I have the original death grip and it is heavy. Do you by chance know how much lighter the carbon fiber model is?
