  1. I had a fake from ebay with the same serial # as your top light. It had a 5 digit date code. It did not fit on my older glock 21 because the battery compartment latch stuck up and prevented the rail from engaging. The real streamlight I have does fit. The metal latch on the battery compartment sits flush with the inside of the light instead of sticking up. So there is another difference.

  2. I don't mind using the fakes as long as you can get them for $30 or $40.. They're worth that money savings. I got the fake Surefire X300u for $45.. and its pretty awesome for what it is. I'm sure the $245 'REAL surefire is better, but I don't care really. I can almost buy 5 of the fakes over the real one and the performance is not bad…. But I get it, if you paid full price and got a fake, that sucks.

  3. I got one and knew it was fake as soon as I opened it. It wasn't even what the seller had pictured in the ad. They have offered me $40 refund and I get to keep the item. I may and just run it through it's paces. I'll report back if it holds up.
