I am retired Marine, 94-2014.. ( 0369 ) I figured in 2014, I will never pick up an AR type weapon again.. here I am in 2021.. in the middle of building a low cost standard AR.. and doing my best to research the items before purchasing..
I got to tell you, this video, helped me a lot.. especially, since all I pretty much was familiar with was the typical A2 standard type pistol grip.. and I was trying to figure out, what is with all these different types of pistol grips?.. My personal fav has been the Ergogrip. I was surprised it or the Hogue wasn't mentioned here.
K2+ = rubberized vertical, best yet IMHO
im more of a1 pistol grip kinda guy

I never liked the A2 that came with my AR. Went with a Magpul MOE. Love it. Great video by the way.

What scope are you running on the bottom rifle?
I love the BCM grips, I have 3 of them now.. Mods 1, 2, and 3.. The Mod 2 is exactly what you're looking for, it was just released recently and has 3 interchangeable backstraps, fills my gorilla hands very nicely.. For now, after using damn near every other one on the market, these are the only ones I'll run.. I will check out the Umbrella Corp one you've shown, I've never got a chance to handle one yet.. Great video!
I understand. The ergo came on my Rock River and I just had never had a reason to change it.

I use Troy's CQB grip, it's great though I don't think you will like it as the one I have doesn't have the backstrap
I have had my sights set on the Magpul K2 for a while now. Thanks for a great comparative review.
If you were to collapse the stock 50 to 100 percent because you were wearing body armor, wouldn't that make the length of pull similar if not the same as a fully extended stock without armor thus making the need for a lesser grip angel unnecessary?

Awesome vid as usual! Very informative! I love my BCM Mod3, but it seems they got it right with the new modular Mod2, can't wait to get mine in and try it out! Im with you on running my stock no further than 1 or 2 clicks out, never understood why anyone would run fully extended, unless your 7 ft tall.

great video thank you. my big thing with grips is also getting my finger back for great placement on the trigger. best one ive found is the larue apeg, not a reduced angle but i prefer it over the uc grip 23 and k2 even with a fully collapsed stock

Thanks for this, it was exactly what I was looking for.
I don't mind the A2's ergos but the hollow core is wasted space, so many viable things could stow in there with a trap door. I do prefer the Magpul MIAD to all others.
for pistol or sbr the angled grips are your best option the magpul k2 feels great on a pistol
