Almost all the parts have been upgraded several times – since the vietnam ar15 – and ammo and mags are much better !

If it aināt broke donāt fix it. The AK platform rifles work amazingly well and the AR 15 platform rifles work amazingly well both of these rifle platforms are aging. However they are aging very gracefully because they still do the job they were designed to do. Remember if it aināt broke donāt fix it. I own both rifle platforms In multiple and Iām not getting rid of any of them.

As an old retired Infantryman, I'm here to tell you that the Forward Assist was definitely needed, I've used it plenty of times. The NEW M-4's that they use now-a-days and the civilian AR's, they might not have much of a function, but I'd rather have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it, that could be fatal. Just saying.

They were trained on the m14 when they switched to the m16, the guys had to hand over their m14 and they got handed a m16 with no training or anything just basically handing it and saying āgo fight nowā now we have field Manual and have made advancements. My great uncle as written books even one about his experiences Vietnam and he was the one who told me about his experience from going to the m14 to m16 and him and many he served with didnāt blame the rifle but blame the government and military head for giving them nothing not even the knowledge to keep the rifle up
