I have not found an AR15 sten mag block that uses the original AR mag release since this video. I know he said that he makes them himself. Any chance I can buy one or get more details on the design?

1. Yes you can.
2. If you cannot, then simply call it a stockless rifle for all puroposes.
Yeah, that's why the ATF requires a 3 day wait on lowers, in case the buyer wants to turn it into a pistol.
What if i buy a stripped lower in a private sale? Would i still be able to make a ar pistol out of the lower receiver?

There is no forward grip, it is a pistol, plain n simple. If it had a stock it would be a sbr and someone would need a stamp for that.
Once you have barrel greater than 16" and overall length greater than 26" you no longer have a pistol. By coincidence you get to those two at almost the same point with an AR pistol if you use a standard pistol buffer tube. That said, it's not a rifle unless you put a stock on it, without a stock it would just be a title 1 "long gun". This would be like one of those semi 1919s or the like which are title 1 long guns.

@dsarti1 you can have a short ar without having to pay the hefty SBR tax.
@superdupercake This is built in a pistol config. No stocks are allowed on AR's of less that 16" barrel length without paying the gov't $200 for a tax stamp. The pistol is too much fun. Be Safe! John
