  1. The Scout lights benefit greatly from a Modlite or Malkhof head.
The throw on the Surefire is really weak, the beam is mostly spill/flood which struggles to PID threat targets much past 70 yds IME.

  2. The M952V clone lights and the M600/M300 clone lights are all like $30-$50. They all kick ass. Many thousands of rounds fired with those and never had an issue. I see no reason anymore to support Surefire.

  3. For what itโ€™s worth, I have several stream light pro tac HL models in different setups and never had a problem with them. Tape switches work flawlessly with many mounts and the lights themselves are durable and compatible with all scout style mounting options. I have owned two inforce WMLs and both have completely broken. First one was mounted to a rifle that got knocked over onto its side while at the range. Just the simple fall from resting on the butt pad to falling on its side on gravel shattered the lens and completely broke the plastic housing of the light. Second one I had mounted on the rifle I use to train new or recoil sensitive shooters (an M&P15-22) just up and quit working one day. Tried new batteries, cleaning the terminals, whole 9 yards and the light is flat out non functional after maybe 4-5 range trips. Wish I could afford surefire stuff but canโ€™t justify that amount of coin for a light right now. Just my two cents.

  4. Good video guys. Noticed you were focuses on lumens when referring to WML's. Candela is the spec you should be looking for. A 50-60,000 candela light running 250-300 lumens will out perform a 1000 lumens only pushing 15-20,000 candela.

  5. I once lost a 30 dollar light made by kobalt. Found it the next year in the mud of a 4 wheeler trail. Must have been run over several times and frozen at least a couple of times. Worked when I picked it up.

  6. Are you aware of the problem the Streamlight ProTac HL-X has? It flickers & switches modes under recoil and when slamming the bolt home from the locked open position. If you have an older version, it likely has this problem. You don't want to find out at the most inconvenient moment. I explain this and how to FIX IT in a video i recently did. On my channel under the "Guns" Playlist. Just trying to spread the message! Hope this helps!

  7. M600 Surefire specs. 6061 aluminum with quartz glass lens and 1500 luminess / 29000 candela. Waterproof down to 100 meters. $285.oo
Protac 2 Streamlight specs. 6061 aluminum with quartz glass lens and 625 luminess / 22000 candela. Waterproof down to 30 meters. Most gun stores like Blackstone are selling the Protac 2 for $150.oo. My 2 – M600 and 1- Protac 2 thank God are problem free and my Protac 2 is extremely bright for 625 luminess because of the 22000 candela. Always look for candela strength when purchasing weapon lights. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒโœ๏ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒโœ๏ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ
