Now we get technical. I dimpled my barrel and installed the low profile gas block. I could only do one dimple because on of the previous pin slots was in the way. One is all you really need anyway. Oh… and some tips on that little gas tube to gas block roll pin installation!

Have you ever dimpled your barrel? Do you use a jig, or freehand it?
Good video but way to slow. And way to mine parts to the video to
Thanks using the pencil line is a good tip
These videos are amazing. Im prepping to do my first upgrade (starting exactly where you started in video 2), and these videos are much more comprehensive than anything else out there. If I had one one friendly suggestion, please stop smacking you lips so much. It comes through very loudly, and you do it often.
I'm amazed this video doesn't have more views
Looked like it was over to the left slightly.
This is the first video I’ve seen that drilling was required to install a gas block. Huh
I watched all your videos but in this one I was waiting for the part were you install the new barrel nut because I need to do the same with my m&p sport 2 i don't know what barrel nut did you used and how you installed it.
Only video i could find that covered the issue of the slots in the barrel left by the A2 FSB and how to deal with securly installing a low pro gas block around them. 👍
Well you put that pin in so easily 😆 🤣
Do you see the ring cut from the set screw. That is the dimple, and all the bite you need ,
The red thread locker will come off with a little bit of heat, but you said it can handle quite a bit of heat from the barrel? Wouldn't it come loose when he gets hot by shooting? Great video of the process though! thanks
Best video on this that I’ve seen. I appreciate your humor too
GAS BLOCK WAS SLIGHTLY LEFT ON THE ALIGNMENT. DROVE ME NUTS TO WATCH
My 2 dremels, cordless and corded would be perfect for something like your 2nd dimple, the kit has very small stone tips with points and could easily notch out that small section slowly and easily.
The gas block I got had lines milled in it so I was able to flip it then use a pencil to mark center of the hole on the barrel then flip it and line up with the pencil Marks.
Having 2 swaying lines milled already in the sides of the gas block made it easier for me to line up.
Or buy a jig for 30 bucks like an adult
Good and informative video, but to be honest, it made me realize it's probably easier to just spend the $30/$40 dollars on the jig and call it a day. One set screw on the gas hole would have eliminated all the guesswork and eyeballing, and you would have had a guide hole so only one drill bit would be needed. Your video does highlight that those taper pin slots can make it it so a person might be limited to only getting one dimple down.
What size gas block was that? I was looking to do the same thing to mine.
Free handing a dimple is the quickest way to ruin a good barrel. The jig costs all of $40.
Actually that would be "11/64ths" of an inch…
Unless you never wanna get that gas block off again red thread locker might be a bit harsh..
Here is a center punch made just for Gas Block dimples. Works pretty good. there is a Video there. https://www.amazon.com/EZ-Accuracy-GBDT-Block-Dimple/dp/B06WWQYBRH?SubscriptionId=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&tag=duckduckgo-exp-a-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B06WWQYBRH
put a Layer or two of Masking tape on this Pliers jaws!
Good video just a bit less chatting because it drags on.
I took the a2 front post/gas block off of my s&w m&p sport 2 and the pins went through the barrel not just scored. Shoukd I be worried about the barrel being too thin? And is there a way to fill them legally? I took the old pin and pounded it in and ground and smoothed it all out but it seems to be walking out.
This was outstanding. The detail was perfect. Thanks!
