Eotechs are definitely good !!!…… I have the EOTech XPS2-2
Good stuff just switched to EOTECH on my patrol rifle and I love it.
I use one for patrol too. I don’t bother to try leaving it on. Our long guns have to stay in our trunks, so I’m not quickly deploying it anyway. A rifle is something I’ll pull over to rip out for active shooter, or meeting my team a mile down the road from the home we are responding too, talking about how we will handle a call. So not being able to leave it on is no big deal. But the pro’s of the FOV, clear glass, badass reticle & no parallax..totally awesome.
I run an EXPS3 as well, except mine is on a riser. I hear all the same misgivings from dudes. “What about the auto shut off?” Toggle it in the middle of shift you’ll be fine. If I have to keep it cruiser ready, Just hit the ⬆️ then run the charging handle. “What about the battery life?” Half the nights my APX and BWC don’t even make it through a whole shift. 1000 hrs is pretty good for the capability in comparison.
I own an Eotech 552 and I chose Eotech because SOF still uses them! If they're good enough for those guys then they're damn sure good enough for me.
