The Nikon M-223 is a sturdy mount designed for AR platforms, easy to install and affordable compared to other manufacturers’ similar products. I now have several of these mounts (XR and non-XR models) so I can rapidly change scopes based on the type of shooting I plan to do (e.g. low mag scope for short range or high magnification scope for long range shooting. There are major differences between the XR model and the non-XR model: The XR has 3 parts that must be aligned properly: the right side base, the left side base and the center of the base. These are secured to the Picatinney rail with 3 Allen bolts. The non-XR model is a one piece base with two Allen bolts. I did notice that the XR mount is a bit more difficult to install than the non XR model since it has 3 parts that must be aligned properly. I was a bit mystified when I could not adjust the scope to shoot on the target. It was consistently shooting to the right of the target. I finally loosened then retightened the XR mount and was able to zero the scope. I did not have that problem with the non-XR model..
