Deciding if you want to try out the new Streamlight TLR-9? We took one down to the dark range to compare it with a TLR-1 HL and a TLR-7a. We show what this weapon light looks like on a Glock 19, Glock 34, and a Glock 17, as well as shooting a few rounds with our new M7 OWB holster.

  1. If you are going to run a owb holster you > NEED < locking retention. You want a Safariland holster. Do not recommend getting any owb holster without locking retention.

  2. I really appreciate how you go about these videos. Very informative, and I love the fact that you are shooting into your wood pile. I think that's an excellent range. 🙂

  3. The tlr9 switch’s function like the tlr7a switch’s, and are a “tap for constant on, and hold for momentary”. Unlike what the video describes, you can absolutely hold the switch down to illuminate the light for as long as desired, and release the switch when you would like it to turn off. In my experience this is a great design, especially in the more narrow profile this offers. Also, the tlr-1 HL has much greater candela than the tlr9 despite them both running on two cr123 batteries.

  4. Shan, thanks for the well made video and complete review. Once again you are bringing useful information as well as fantastic products. I'm glad I get "Shan's Bulletz" in my inbox.
