  1. I got one a month ago and mine was firing two at a time until one got lodged in the converter kit. Any idea why that would happen. I’ve heard nothing but good about it so could have been user error or bad ammo

  2. The CMMG 22lr components themselves are great but the magazines are not made well at all.
I purchased 2 25 round CMMG magazines for my 22 conversion. The magazines are a little more than 1mm smaller than a standard MAGPUL magazine and have a very sloppy fit that makes them almost unusable. Because the magazine is so loose, it has constant misfires when the magazine is not exactly in line with the bolt. The rounds also stick inside the magazine itself and do not feed smoothly. I was unpleasantly surprised to see that a company like CMMG would produce a product so far outside of working tolerances. I will be purchasing a Black Dog 32 round or Chiappa 25 round magazine to replace this junk.

  3. One positive to this is in California if it's rimfire it's not considered an assault weapon with all the furniture/features and without the fin. Something to consider if you're traveling around and want to keep it legal.

  4. Great review with one exception. I HIGHLY recommend getting a loader that will work with these low rise 25 round magazines. My thumb is sore at the 13th round. Am waiting on a loader here now. Found one for $9 range. Only one or two that I found made one. Search Midway for a speed loader for AR15 -22 mag loader. Just a suggestion.
    Great advice and vid,
    God Bless

  5. I just bought one of these kits with three 25 rnd mags for my Ruger AR-.556, its so simple and inexpensive to use, great for training and loads of fun.
Don't forget the Lightnin Loader, load a 25 rnd mag in 15 seconds.

  6. I like the idea to be able to have the conversion kit in your pack. I had the bushmaster carbon 15/22 witch was awesome. For one you had the option on the bushmaster to put any ar upper on it 223 5.56 and 7.62.
Idk if you can do that on other Ar 22s?. And the Aguila is probably gonna work best. The cases aren't crimped and that helps against gas seepage..

  7. It seems it would be easier to have a 300BO upper and a 5.56 upper with the .22 conversion ready to go then you have three variants on one and a half rifles.
I bought this a while ago and now I'm just waiting for the fire ban and associated shooting restrictions to lift so I can go to my normal outdoor range and get some plink time.

  8. Any harm in using this to break in a new AR? I just received one of these and even though I have 5.56 ammo, I would like to hold on to it. The manual says to fire 5.56 to clean the gas tube which is no big deal.

  9. Shooting ranges are never a problem for me. Plus I never pay to go and never on a timer. If you are wondering why, that’s because the places I go shoot is outdoors. I go to the desert and local BML land. I also shoot in my backyard. By the way I have this conversion kit and it’s awesome. When I don’t want to go to the desert or BML land I just shoot in my backyard.

  10. I got one of these month ago…I have 5.56 NATO I bought the buffer plug and charging handle blank and with CCI mini mag hv 40 grain and winchester copper plated round nose 40 grain super speed 1300 fps cycle through this like a raped ape… Absolutely love it…

  11. Don’t bother with this CMMG conversion. My chamber insert / adapter CRACKED ALONG ITS LENGTH in a few hundred rounds. Accuracy was not good either before it cracked.
I have bought a handful of other cmmg products before like lower internals and magazines. All worked fine but the 22 lr conversion is a lemon.

  12. Been looking at AR conversions for a long time could use one my AR pistol 10 and a half inch barrel she is loud 22 conversion that's the ticket put my registered can back on it just right for planking don't need no muffs he he he

  13. If I didn't already own a Ruger 10/22, tricked out in an M-4 configuration with aftermarket equipment, I'd definitely be interested in this conversion kit for my AR. Still, it's interesting and I can pass this along to those who owns AR's, but not a semi-auto in .22LR. 🇺🇸💀🇺🇸
