  1. Not exactly a good comparison. A hodgepodge Thompson that hardly works in its most basic M1A1 configuration. I'd be much more interested in how a 1928, or a Navy model compares. Those were the tricked out guns of the day with better sights and a Cutts compensator.

  2. imagine not knowing that open bolt machineguns exist, and, not being able to realize that you're holding one because you think everything ever made has a bolt release…

  3. So this is something that confuses me. How are all these people on YouTube getting modern full-auto firearms?

The Tommy I get. Pre and Post Dealer sample laws make sense. Expensive and lots of paperwork.

But I thought the FOP Act made it illegal for civilians to own anything full-auto made after 1986. Some insight would be great.

  4. would you recommend getting a 9mm pcc AR pistol in MA? We have some odd laws here and I went to a local gun store and they had a few. thinking of getting one before its too late. should i?

  5. That is a M1 Thompson Upper and it does not lock before firing. It is just Straight Blowback Operation. The M1928 Thompson does not lock either but it has the Brass Blish Wedge that slightly Delays the Breech Action from opening upon firing. It also slight slows the Full Auto Cyclic Rate as compared to with out it.

  6. I love the curve mag aesthetic. So guns line mp5, MPX, AKV. Seeing the gun on cmmg website it makes it look like the Glock back angles so far back and I thought no way that looks gross. Seeing it in action in the video it's back on the I want this gun list

  7. Awesome comparison video– two small combat sub guns designed, essentially, to do the same job!

Talk about comparing a small slice of one century (early to mid 20th) vs. the next (early to mid 21st)…

  8. If it has M1928 stampings, I am guessing it's a M1928 receiver reworked to the M1 SMG standard during the war. There should be an ordnance marking from that, near the muzzle on my rifles. M1928s had a flip up ladder rear sight, and were almost always delivered with a barrel with cooling fins and a compensator. Those last two features rarely made it through the war though since they would get tossed with a worn barrel.

  9. The Thompson probably went to war…used extensively, not cleaned, and generally abused, wether intentionally or not.now showing it's age….Roomed with a medic at Ft Benning who came back from vietnam…..he thru his brand new M-16 in the trash after it failed 3 times…his father carried the Thompson on his tank in WW2…Dad sent him the money to go out on the black market and buy a Thompson, cause it would work with standard 45 acp….thing never failed him for the rest of his tour, and he handed it off to another medic when he rotated…

  10. 'Crap' show some respect son! Heavy old beasty the Thompson but it did good service. The new one looks great. It was an interesting video. That is an M1A1 not an original version of the blish lock type.
