We triumphantly return to the Northwoods Range to do an as scientific as possible comparison between a stock CMMG .22 Conversion Kit vs. one that has been upgraded by a BoreBuddy Reliability Kit (Courtesy of Will at BoreBuddy.com). Our Results reflect poorly on myself and Winchester M22 bulk ammo but well on CMMG, Blazer .22, BoreBuddy, and Franklin Armory’s BFS3 binary trigger. (Sorry for all the wind noise.) In spite of our failures we do uncover a number of interesting data points. Check it out!

  1. NIce test. But, your results are exactly the reason why I built a dedicated 22LR upper using CMMG conversion bolt, RTB 16 inch 22lr barrel and assorted Borebuddy parts. Accurate, reliable and runs all day long without any issues.

  2. I use my kit quite a bit due to being in an urban area and 5.56 would be a problem. I heard stories of how some people were saying they had to break in their kits. So when I got mine I polished each of the mating surfaces and the feed ramp and have had great reliability even shooting cheap stuff like the golden bucket. Cheap stuff is definitely not as accurate and extremely dirty. Keeping her wet helps alot both for function and cleanup. My rifles 16" & 10.3" shoot excellent groups with the heavier grain 22 rounds. I did the RTV gas buster mod to the standard charging handle. Found I have a definite lower left POI shift when suppressed. But for now 22lr training is better than nothing. I still have to take mine out to see my POI shift from 22lr to 5.56. I like your content so far thanks for the videos.

  3. Pre BoreBuddy for you was nice! I was lucky to get at least 5 fte per mag. After getting the hookup from BB, it runs flawless. I also had to use a Sprinco Red spring instead of the Super42.

  4. I experience the same . I ended up just going with the dedicated 22barrel . 1/7 twist does not do so well the 1/9 does better . I just could not get over the crazzy amount of lead build up so just got collar and 22 barrel .
