The very best way to solve all of this is to make sure the barrel fits super tight into the upper and make sure you use a Midwest Industrys handguard. With a Midwest their is no need to time the barrel nut just torque it to 50 Ft lbs then install the handguard. I always take my barrels to a gun show or shop to find an upper that fits super tight then all I need to do is heat the upper up along with putting the barrel in the freezer, then slip the barrel in.
You need to space your gas block. Showing people how to do this incorrectly could get someone hurt that doesn't know what they are doing. Im don't mean to talk shit. Everyone was new at this at some point, I just don't want to see anyone get hurt from doing it wrong. Thanks buddy.

That hand guard is a piece of garbage.
