  1. I just figured out how to make it even easier! Cut the sharp ends off of a round toothpick. From the back push the toothpick up to the gap thru the port door and the long pin from the front to the gap. Like Larry said with the port door open, place the spring down correctly, then push the toothpick halfway in the spring. Then holding the toothpick end down, twist the front end clockwise and press and hold in place while threading the rod through the spring. Let the rod push the "slave pin" toothpick through the back. Keep pressure on the rear of the cover as you align the pin with the hole in the "ear" It makes it so much easier to hold down and keep the short leg of the spring from jumping while you twist the long leg.

  2. Tip. The next time you manage to miraculously remove that horrible C Clip without destroying your gun, throw the clip in the trash! Secure the rod in place as follows. Simply obtain a small ZIPTIE, cinch it down tightly at the same location where the C Clip used to reside. Trim the ZIPTIE down as far as possible and you’re done. The ZIPTIE lock will be barely noticeable, allow free rotation of the rod and be easily removable by simply trimming it away. SCREW THAT C CLIP. Or option 2 is to simply buy a Strike Industries Billet Dust Cover which takes 5 seconds to install or remove. PEACE!
