  1. In the end, shot placement is key. Killing your target, especially in a self-defense scenario, would be a good outcome, but no two targets are going to behave the same. All three of those options are very capable of getting the job done. Strike your target in critical places…they will go down. Or at least change their behavior.

  2. For those worried about over penetration….from a 10.5 inch barrel…..a 55gr FMJ 5.56 will penetrate about 22 inches of naked ballistic gel at about 12ft….which isn't that bad considering it's not passing through any clothing, etc…that would slow it down a little. Word of advice….invest in a can or suppressor….not a muzzle break. The flash and bang from that short barrel is brutal.

  3. I heard for the .223/.556 to tumble, fragment and have its max potential the bullet needs to be going around 3,000 for. Any of them would wreck you, but I'm glad I have the 18 inch Ruger 5.56 mpr.

  4. Nice video. Like. Sub. I prefer the 10.5 because it’s just in between the 3 and easy enough to pack away and in your car. Wanted to build another 10.5in AR pistol but will be building a 7.5in because that was the only 5.56 barrel I liked and I could get that wasn’t sold out.

  5. Great video and thanks for posting. I'm a lever gun guy by heart, but been sniffing around for an AR. Ran across these pistol barrels in the AR platform and was wondering the same thing: 10.5 vs 7in barrel. Great info and thanks for posting! 10inch barrel would be my choice too!

  6. Have a 7.5 and anything smaller than 16 inch is a cqb and they both still have plenty of velocity to kill and be lethal machines for cqb engagements and that’s what mines for
