  1. With an 8” barrel with 230 grain what is your estimated/actual speed (FPS). I’m calculating @1000fps to 1100fps low end / high end FMJ with mid-quality ammo.
My concern: Bullet is still subsonic. Like the 8” barrel + Suppressor + Sub-Sonic Ammo hitting with higher speed still at a very low report suppressed.

  2. I just ordered the Banshee 45 tonight. It has the 5" barrel. The 200 comes in the 8, but I was talking to a guy today about ballistics and coefficients of barrel lengths and he was saying that in pistol form with a 5 " barrel the burn rate has reached its max and that the longer the barrel is just drag. Not sure about that. Anyway, enjoyed your video and what was that firing at 14.41? Sounded badass.

  3. Have you been able to run 5 or 6 different hollow points through it yet? Heard the guard had issues with some but not yet with the Banshee. I want to find some cheaper JHP's to try out in my 9mm banshee

  4. I love mine! Just recently, I dropped a Franklin Armory BFS III trigger in it. I used the blue hammer spring that was on the hammer that came with the kit, the lighter, red trigger spring on the enclosed trigger and the stronger buffer spring, both of which also came with the kit. Install was fast and easy, and I've fired over 200 rounds through it without a misfeed, misfire or jam, and I couldn't outrun the bolt, even when I tried.
I have a red dot sight on it and it now shoots even better than when I bought it, and it's twice as fast.
My only complaint is that ammo isn't free, lol. Jk, I'm a capitalist.
Worth every penny, for both the weapon and the binary trigger.
    I highly recommend both products.

  5. MEH…CMMG is just another company that think their firearms are made from female body parts, and are better than gold! For the low price of 1250.00, and you expect a QD point on the handrail? That'll be another 200.00 for that luxury.

  6. Neither of my Banshees run hollow points reliably – neither 9mm nor 45. The 45 won't shoot SWC either. Watch what the bolt lugs do to lead bullets. I'll watch for your results.

  7. *Serious Glock OEM Magazine Issue with .45 ACP Banshee* I have several Banshees all tricked out- 8" 9mm, 5" 9mm, 8" 10mm and a 5" 45ACP. The 45ACP is a great shooter, especially suppressed- even firing at a quicker cadence standing it gives one ragged hole at 15 yards which never fails to get comments from people at the range. It does suffer from one persistent FATAL FLAW- using any Glock OEM magazines loaded to 2 or three rounds, when loading from a closed bolt manually using the charging handle, as the bolt is pulled back and rakes over the round, the Glock OEM magazine allows the round to nose up and when the charging handle is release, a FTF occurs 100% of the time.

So heaven help you if you are in a self defense situation with a .45 ACP Banshee and for some reason need to manually cycle the bolt while there are only a few rounds left in your magazine, based on my sample of one, it is going to jam.

SGM magazines work just fine in described scenario. I have tried extra power springs of various sorts and have not been able to stop the FTF issue with Glock OEM mags. The gun cycles flawlessly when firing a mag with just 3 rounds, as long as you started with an open bolt. The speed of the bolt cycling during live fire appears to avoid the problem. Comparing the Glock OEM mag with a SGM when both are loaded to 3 rounds, the Glock mag clearly allows the follower to tilt much more than the SGM. The SGM spring is stiffer but the issue appears to primarily lie in the geometry of the follower with relation to the magazine near the feed lips. A side note- current runs of ETS magazines will not seat in the .45ACP Banshee; ETS is working on it.

If anybody else has experienced the same issue, please comment as I plan on taking this up with CMMG support and would like to include any relevant additional information.
