Optica Exotica looks at your grandmother’s favorite binoculars: the Nikon Trailblazer 8×25. The Nikon Trailblazers are good compact lightweight binoculars that serve well as lightweight travel binoculars. Just don’t expect them to blow you away with their ergonomics or image quality.

  1. I have a pair of Swarovski 8×25 CL's that I recommend. Over 10 times the price of these. As "Optica" says, "The best binoculars are the ones with you." It's viable to bring a 8×25 with you on a business trip, where as a x42 seems to be 4 times the size. The Swaro's are good basic binoculars, no huge thrills. Just a good view in a compact set of binos. But perhaps best of all, my wife likes them…

  2. Another great review. I would love to see a video comparing an 8×32 vs an 8×42 in low light conditions. I’m curious how much extra viewing time you actually gain at dark with the larger objective lens.

  3. Very interesting! I did not expect them to fold up that much! Now I want some for my car door pocket so I don’t have to keep 8x42s so handy haha. I often stop to look at the hawks I drive by so I know I would get some good use out of them. For that cheap I wouldn’t feel as bad leaving them in the car in the summer too
