AR Buttstock cleaning kits. If you have an A1 or A2 style buttstock with the hatch and storage compartment and want to finish off your retro build, you might be looking for one of these. I can’t really recommend spending the money on an original issue. The reason is, they may be either a fake or in really bad condition. I don’t think there ever was one stamped “Colt” so I personally am fine with a remake as long as its not overpriced. These kits where not that great anyway compared with the kits you probably have at your work bench. So take them for what they are. A field kit that is stored in the buttstock. Here are a couple I found searching the inter-webs. It’s a good place to start.

I picked up a not so hot looking original kit "bag" at a surplus store for 1.50. Next time I'm going to dig through the cleaning parts and see if I get get enough parts to build a complete kit.
I also have one of those safe spots.

Cool I am gonna look for any markings on mine I bought an old shaving bag full of these kits and stuff at flea market with old milsurp goodies …. you have sparked my curiosity…..and Just think of all the awesome stuff that you will one find in that "safe" place 🤣
