**TEASER: EPIC B ROLL AT END OF VIDEO. Watch until the end 😉

I cannot believe that I have not done an overview video of this rifle yet, especially considering it is one of my most used and abused builds to date.

My first AR15 technically wasn’t this rifle. My first AR15 build also was technically not this rifle. With that being said, I still believe this is my first AR15 build and I discuss all the reasons why in the video.

Guys, I’m really trying hard to step my video game up. I’m working on speaking clearly, being concise, being better at story telling. I’m working on videography, editing, audio, lighting. It is a constant journey but one I am happy to have you along for.

What was your first build? Leave me a comment below with some specs and let’s have a discussion.

Enjoy the video and let me know in the comments what you think. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Also let me know what videos you would like to see in the future!

Would you like to support me personally? One of the best ways is through my company, TA Targets. Look, we all need steel targets on our range. The choice is whether you will buy garbage steel or high quality steel. I want to make that choice easier for you: Simply use my code “keystonecarry” online at and save 10%. Do I get paid from my code use? Not directly, but I own the company with my two business partners so obviously buying my products benefits me. You are helping feed my wife and toddlers by supporting my pages and companies. I greatly appreciate you considering some steel targets from TA Targets. You will NOT find better targets or a company more willing to take care of you and support you. We also un-apologetically believe in regular citizens owning all arms. That’s pretty rad.

  1. Never owned an ar and I’m not in the military. But I’ve grown up shooting shotguns and hunting rifles but does turning your rifle on an angle like that to shoot accomplish anything or is it like some “gangster” Turing their pistol sideways to shoot lol

  2. Great video! I'm building my first AR currently, and my budget is definitely limited… I've bought the best parts that I can afford including a quality optic.. Just waiting on my Aero upper to show up this week. Selling my other AR to pay for the new one.

  3. Love the build. As to watching you shoot in the short clips throughout the video I noticed that you cant your rifle a lot. Is this just force of habit for you with shooting close range targets?

  4. Build List from Video:

Boscabel Weapon Systems: Bel-Loc 19 Bipod
    Silencerco Omega 30 Cal Suppressor
Palmetto State Armory (Caliber 5.56 NATO (.223) 1:7 Twist)
    AERO Precision Multi-Cal Lower Receiver
    Vortex Optics Venom 3M0A Offset
    Geissele SD-E two-stage trigger
    Vortex Optics Strike Eagle 1-6X
Mission First Tactical Minimalist Adjusted Butt Stock

  5. In your opinion, which should I splurge on? The upper or the lower? I'm getting ready to start my first AR 5.56 build and looking for good advice. Wanting to build a 20 inch varmint rifle to start with and maybe a shorter upper later. Any advice will be appreciated. I enjoyed your video. Thanks very much for posting.

  6. 20k rounds through a PSA upper?
Honestly after hearing that, I can not imagine why I would but something else. For the price, it seems like PSA would be unbeatable. (Unless you are really looking for some precision shooting.)

  7. I bought a NBS 16″ 5.56 NATO 1:7 Twist 4150V Black Nitride Mid-Length Barrel for my build. It has a .750 gas block journal. It actually measures .749. I also bought an assembled .750 Low Profile Micro Gas Block And Mid Length Gas Tube. The gas block actually measures .748. My question is am I s.o.l. on this gas block, or? I have talked to some friends who build and told them about this, and they said I might try 'freezing' the barrel to shrink it and then heating up the gas block to expand it. Has anyone ran into this situation before, and is this idea worth trying or should I just get another gas block?
