I'm sure you know it now, but the bullet size is a 22 caliber and as you said, it has a bigger boom because the case holds more gunpowder.
You picked out a really nice AR, AGC. I got my first AR back in the mid 1980's. It was an old school Colt with the carry handle rear sight and the triangular handguard. I didn't like the handguard and I swapped it out for the latest more round handguard being used in the military.
Since she is left handed, she should have bought a left handed rifle. Every woman needs to learn how to shoot. Everyone needs to take their own personal security into their own hands. I recently read that the average national response time for police officers is 11 minutes. How much damage can be done and how many victims can be killed by a criminal in 11 minutes ?? A defenseless woman can be raped and murdered in 11 minutes.
Without having done either, my bet is that archery would be so much more aesthetically pleasing. It's silent, almost meditative – something that would be of zero interest to these folks.

The barrerls in stage arms are like 4 to 5 moa accuracy. So you are not going to be very accurate grouping. Cheap quality gun. Get a 1" moa or less guarenteed m4. Get a 1×7 barrel twist chrome lined barrel. Questions answer me back and I can advise u on the next m4 purchase. I can text u and explain ar15 m4 design and quality
This guy is a dumb ass on a AR15. U sight an AR15 in at 50 yard zero. If he was in the military he would know this and understand. 223 trajectory. Gun chick you should have got advice from someone who knows AR15/m4's. Don't listen to the stupid gun dealers. You bought a stage arms AR15. These are cheap knock offs and not a true military grade m4. The barrels are cheap and don't zero well. Next time buy a quality M4 military speced battle riffle. Buy a colt or LMT m4 in left hand. Find one on gunbroker

Just stumbled onto this three year old video, but figured I'd comment anyhow to let you know that Stag Arms makes left-handed AR15s, just in case you're not already aware. You might also consider geting an optic of some sort….such as a LPV scope or an Aimpoint or Trijicon red dot. It's good to learn on irons, but an optic is the way to go IMO.
I wonder if you really did pull one…ex-Navy/Marines guys….lot of machoism…don't want to be embarrassed by a new female shooter. hehe…
A thought…just because they tell us they were in the military..doesn't necessarily make them a better shooter than a civilian..hehe…
The same holds true for "hand to hand combat/empty hand—no weapons"..people assume if they were in the military they must be experts and better in martial arts…not true. 🙂 The only difference is…in some cases…some military have been in fights (empty hand or with firearms) to the death.
Some military personnel have never been tested. Never left the military base. 🙂 Never been in any wars.
