Another great product review. Thank you. One other great feature that I like is the pocket clip. The way it bends back over itself you can clip it to the bill of a ball cap and use like a headlamp for hands free work. Several Streamlight models have clips that allow this. I personally carry the 1AAA for my edc. It has more than enough light for working on things, finding my way around the house in the dark, and its so small and lightweight you dont even know its there.
It will also run off a AAA they don't advertise it, but it will, have run one of mine that way several times with no issues. I own several of those at this point. For two primary reasons… reliability, and the ability to scrounge for batteries if necessary. In addition to that it's simply a good light. I run most of my lights on the low setting "most" of the time… and yes it greatly extends battery life.
Tho' bigger, the Nitecore P12 can run up to 50 days…Runs on 21700, 18650, CR123 and RCR123 batteries. Not bad choice for the "scavenger" that needs a more powerful light.
I think it would compliment this light rather well. It will not tail stand unfortunately however.
Glad to see you jump on the 1L-1AA train. It's so versatile, I've been running one off and on and it's darn near perfect. CR123a, AA, AAA, (allegedly CR2 and AAAA but I haven't tested them) as well as rechargeable AA and AAA. I'd highly recommend ten-tap programing it to the low-high mode. If you don't use strobe, that's the perfect set-up for it! That way you don't have to cycle through to get low since you said you use low so much.
that's a great point about low light use for navigation in grid down, people don't use flashlights in constant use enough to think about heat. On low, the Streamlight takes forever to heat up. If you have a 1,200 lumen light, have fun holding onto it after a minute or two of constant use, and most of them dramatically step down output anyway (here's looking at you, Olight.)
Just watch out for clones and counterfeits on Amazon!
I am currently in the market for a new EDC light. This light seems to meet all of my wants in a light. Thanks for the review. Much appreciated. Blessings brother
I run a thrunite Archer 2A and it gets used multiple times a day. I also run rechargable batteries in it. So my edc light, red Dot, nods and laser all run on rechargable AAs. ~$35 on Amazon. Best part is it throws 500 lums on 2 AA batteries and goes down to .5 lums on moonlight mode.
My favorite light is a toss up between the Fenix UC35 and the Nitecore mh12. Both are USB rechargeable and IP 67 waterproof, even with the USB port open. Plus, you can get colored filters for the lenses. 🤓
As a side note and my uneducated personal opinion. If you are clearing a large industrial building, you want nods or lots of lums. A House probably doesn't matter that much. But in a big empty-ish space the extra lums can reveal areas that a dim light wouldn't. Just my experience. In a pitch black area, 10 or 1000 lums is going to be spotted so might as well have the advantage. 🤷
I Shore Can't spend a $100.00+ dollars on a frick'in light……….I've got to many 0ther things I need before buy'n these thing's, Dang. A flashlight AIN'T Worth that anyway's. I'm still building my Get 0ut of Dodge Trailer and all that.
My lights run on 18650 batteries rechargable which didn't cost me a dime got them from old lap top battery packs had my lights for over 2 yrs now and their great lights I have abused the hell out of them and they still working perfectly
I have heard from several credible sources that this light can, tho' not ideal, use AAA batteries also. IIRC, there is a video by Survival Dispatch that talks about it being able to do so.
Yes sir that is a way better option in my opinion. Tier 1 citizen made a video along these lines yesterday. I mention what you did about not blinding yourself with backsplash. He responded that it was a myth. I disagree with him on that. That is great light sir.
I’ve been running a protac 2x aaa for over 2 years. Accidentally tore the rubber cap off the switch about 8 months ago and it still works and is still running strong. I only have to replace the batteries a couple times a year. I agree that Streamlight makes excellent products. Didn’t realize the 1aa took cr123 as well. Might be time to look at another edc light!

That's my edc light, too.
The dual direction clip can be used to stick it on a hat brim, for hands free use.

Yes sir, I like my Streamlight too!
I also like that it uses AA and AAA batteries, which are more commonly available than CR123 batteries!

Looks like a nice light. I see your points. I think I'll pick one up. Thanx.

Streamlight 1l – 1AA, also takes other batteries such as the AAA, Cr2 batteries. They will all work.
Olight blows surefire out of the water in the chase for lumens and the variable modes seals the deal.
Thank u brother, this was exactly what I was lookin for.
John, thanks for sharing, good points , I like the low light options 👍

I like the positive view you have and I commend you for that much appreciated and thank you sir 👍🇬🇧
Plus I still have my old maglight which I converted over to 18650 batteries
My lights run on 18650 batteries rechargable which didn't cost me a dime got them from old lap top battery packs had my lights for over 2 yrs now and their great lights I have abused the hell out of them and they still working perfectly
All of the lumens requires all of the battery. You only get the brightness by pumping as much power as possible through the bulb.
I have heard from several credible sources that this light can, tho' not ideal, use AAA batteries also. IIRC, there is a video by Survival Dispatch that talks about it being able to do so.

Good video brother keep up the good work stay safe out there brother.
You bring up good points on the lumens. I like the options of batteries. Good video!
