I never had any malfunctions with my Delton Sierra 316, it has a semi auto BCG,1X9 twist with a H barrel. People talk a lot of crap about Deltons quality being outsourced by other unknown parties (hence the price). Mine works flawless so far.
I just bought this as a rifle kit, should be here in a few days and I cant wait to throw it on a lower a shoot it. I've heard great things about this entry level AR. Mid length was a must for me and at $450 it was a no brainer. Cool stuff.
How is the handling of the heavy barrel? The lightweight (pencil) profile from DEL-TON is roughly 1.99lbs. The HBAR is about 2.6lbs. That's some major ounces but did the weight effect balance or ergonomics much?
you have the heavy barrel vs the govt contour .yours will stay more accurate when hot , my question is , is it 1in9 or 1in7 , and is it chrome . and how do you like it as of now. i just ordered a similar set up . for the $ , cant beat it .
he has the heavy barrel , it comes in heavy or govt contour. this hasnt got the taper and it a consistant thckness, not sure if its 1in9 , or 1 in7, chrome etc or not, but they sell this set up for $429-$499 on midway usa. im on back order, really nice components. well worth the buck , for $499 i get the trigger kit , pistol grip and stock , and upper with the heavy and 1 in 7 chrome in a mid length with front sight . on a flat top. not to shabby.
I believe it was about $10-15. I used coupon codes I found for them though, so it was free. Midway has lots of offers like that around, it definitely tips the balance towards them as far as online shopping goes.
I did notice quite a bit more weight with the heavy barrel, I would say its a good 6-8 ounces heavier than a government profile (guesstimate). That extra weight also made the rifle want to keep swinging when you swung to put it on target.
Do you notice a big weight difference of the heavy barrel versus the government profile barrel profile of the 16" barrel? I used to have a Bushmaster with a 20" heavy barrel and I hated carrying it compared to my BCM 20" government profile upper.

for your Bucks!!!!
I think he's talking about how your barrel doesn't have the usual M4-profile.

I would need a contrast to see what your talking about. I'm assuming your talking about the length or the size?
Thank You
