  1. I just picked one up.. Yet to shoot it, but I’m new to the “gun world” so I’ve got lot’s of questions lol. What do you call the part around the barrel? Mine is open grooves/metal and I can customize what I put down on the end (light, laser, etc..). What is that called? And can I shoot both .223 ammo and 5.56mm ammo? 223 is obviously cheaper but I want what will work the best out of my gun for hunting and what will work best when I am practicing or shooting smaller game or just messing around having fun? These crazy people and the threat of changes to gun laws/magazine sizes, which I’m sure will be otw soon after these latest tragedies. I’m buying high capacity magazines while I still can and I’m also almost tempted to buy one or two more AR’s to “load up” and potentially have them triple in value right after the changes… We shall see!! Great video and I would appreciate any help/insight you can give me re: my questions and then just any general knowledge that you think would benefit me re: the AR-15. Thanks!

  2. I just bought a DelTon DTI 15, with the slim full length hand guard, and the full length pica tinny rail. No hideous fixed front site post made into the gas block. Forward assist, and dust cover. $475. Great rifle, especially for the price. I love mine!!! Runs like a dream. I installed dual aperture flip up aluminum sights, with a 2 MOA red dot. I love my setup. Plus, it looks sharp. I highly recommend DelTon.

  3. i just got a delton ar15 echo a few days ago for $450 at a local store new. wow. best ar15 i have ever had. not a single issue when i shot 200 rounds. eats steel 223, brass 223 and 5.56 with zero issues. highly recommend delton.

  4. How long have you had your Delton? I saw your video and purchased mine yesterday. My first AR. I wanted to go more expensive and buy a Saint, but they are hard to come by used in California not to mention almost $800-900. The Delton cost me $575. The guy barely had 400 rounds through it.

  5. I have a Del-Ton 20 inch HBar chrome lined I got as a rifle kit along with an Anderson multi stripped lower. Has a tight fit and matches well. Not bad for $600. Basically its an AR15A3 with a Leapers UTG carry handle. Got a thru rail scope mount with a 3-9x32mm small tactical scope. I can shoot both irons and scope or shoot with or without the scope. It is a heavy rifle but that is okay. It just flat runs. I am running C Products USGI steel mags and ASC USGI aluminum mags both 20 and 30 rounders.

I have a Del-Ton 16 inch HBar mid length rifle kit just sitting right now while I wait on another Anderson multi stripped lower to come in. I could not pass up the deal I got on that kit. $384.81 shipped. Total rifle about $440 after transfer fee. It will be almost the same as the one above. But an M4 type A3 with carry handle. Scope can be put on or taken off. I can shoot both irons and scope.

My scale says the trigger is about six pounds but it feels more like a light four pounds. The trigger surprised me as I thought it was going to be a real heavy mil spec trigger. I am happy with it.

  6. Did a lot of researching and found 90 percent of AR-15 lowers are exactly the same specs. Why pay extra if there is no difference? You are just paying for a pony on your gun and for higher resale value, other than that they are exactly the same.
Finally decided to bit the bullet and buy an AR-15 Hbar A3 by Delton. Their Alpha model. Just needed a carry handle with iron sights and got that to complete that classic look. Now I am just waiting a few days on the check to clear and for my gun to ship to my FFL.

  7. I bought their Mid-length rifle kit and used an Anderson lower, so the total cost of the build was around $500.  The bang for the buck is awesome.  I haven't it through a class yet, but so far with a years worth of shooting, it's been great.  Delton is a solid option for budget / entry level ARs.

  8. I am glad you commented about running with the rifle on safe. That was a concern of mine. Frank Proctor taught me if my eyes are not glued to sights my rifle needs to be on safe. Poor buddy of yours, you put him on the spot right away about ak vs ar- but he played it smart with his answer haha.
