The Millet TRS-1 is not the best LR optic in its price range, but it may work for starting out. The Nikon Monarch X scope is a beautifully made optic, but its features render it largely inappropriate for our extreme range purposes. Of all the Nightforce models available, there is only one that I can approve of for our applications, the F1. If you want a NF for extreme range target interdiction at unknown ranges in multiple environments, be SURE to select the F1 series – or you may kick yourself later.

Rex, have you had a chance to get hold of the Athlon scopes, I'd like to see a review on them thank you, love your videos thanks!
I know it's not popular but I prefer a second focal plane scope. Just give me a laser rangefinder. Boom

Man I wish I came across this video before I bought my Millet TRS-1…. It's a complete POS. I was trying to avoid paying $500+ for a scope…. but now I'm going to have to get another one, accept now I'll be in for $800 instead of just swallowing the $500+ to start. 'Buy once, cry once…'
Hey Rex, I was wondering what you thought of Primary Arm's scopes for an optic on a budget? Specifically the 4-14x44mm FFP scopes they have available. Obviously with optics I realize that in general the more you pay, the better optic you receive, but I have heard positive reviews on the Primary Arms for the price range.
Correction! Upon further investigation I would rather see a review of "The Beast".
Please if you can review the Nightforce NXS 8-32×56 MIL-R scope #C530.
I am looking to get a nightforce, scope I am wondering is it worth getting the nightforce beast or is the nightforce F1 NSX make more sense?
I will be putting it on an armalite AR10T and the farthest I would ever shoot would be 1000 yards but more often would be about 500 yards.
Hey.. Looking to buy a scope that will be going on a long range .223. I would like a scope with open style turrets, at least 50moas of adjustment . And at least goes up too 15 magnification .Prefer 30mm tube.. I Would ovbiously prefer a FFP but not a must. I would like to spend not over $550 Ish, with all that in mind, what do you think would be the best scope for me. Thanks !
Hey Rex, I have a Remington 700 5R .308, I was looking at this video. I want to get a Nightforce, what do you think of the ATACR? I know it's a second focal plane. Can you did me you opinion on that one? And when it comes to a second focal plane, can't you just buy custom Kenton Turrets. With the elevation and windage. That have been modified for your rifle of the round you fire. To make up for being a second focal plane? I'm only firing 175 grain
TRex… great video… I am considering the NF F1 with the MRL 2.0 Reticle
Wonder what you think about the Leatherwood M-1000 'Camputer' scope? Believe it's a 2.5 – 10 power and auto ranging reticle. I have the 1-4 x 24 CMR for my AR and I love it. Looking for longer range ability for my Savage Bolt 308. Thanks.
Hey Rex, in my quest to build a dedicated designated marksman rifle on a PTR91 platform, I would like to get your opinion on scope selection. I'm asking a lot of people for their advice since I'm fairly new to DDMRs. I'm working on a budget, so the Millet TRS-1 4-16X50 would be a good choice? I don't plan on using the magnification a lot.
I just viewed a video where the owner of USO indicated they manufactured the prototype glass and farm it out. They indicated about 75% of the scope was US. This shouldn't stop anyone from purchasing. It won't me as soon as I can budget for it anyway… In any event, if you want the best possible optic does it really matter where the glass is from?
how much did nightforce pay you for this? 🙂
how can you make reviews on equipment you have never used? your just going over some spreadsheet that was posted on some sniper website? i guess you cater to the mall ninja crowd…..
what would you recommend for scope for someone is just getting into long range shooting with a smaller budget? thanks
Good vid shame about the bible bullshit.
Is the Millet LRS 1st focal plane?
What about Meopta?
So should I not buy a long range scope that zooms past 15x?
I'm buying a spotting scope to spot and would rather buy a better optic than spend more for more zoomage.
Thanks in advance…
Hi Rex love your vids … and watching these scope ones …I have been looking at alot of scopes and more confused every day ….Heres what I have come up with …and in your experience what what you reccomend ?

nightforce F1 3-15×50 ffp
IOR 3-18×50 sh x1 ffp
my budget is around 2000.00 +/-
also what is that istrument called that does wind, pressure temp readings
Thanks keep it up !!!
SWFA, Cabela's, MidwayUSA, and other major optics outfitters….
where were you getting your prices from?
Its called 'Under the Ice', you can watch the whole song on my music video playlist. 🙂
what is the song you use in your video at the end? and great review too.
nightforce is a company which was found by australian hunters who like to hunt in the night thus the name nightforce. hunters -> second focal plane. my buddy has the 3,5-15 nxs zerostop 2nd focal plane. it makes other shooters at the range stare just because its expensive and the name has its ring to it. clarity and how the handling of the knobs feel.
and yes he is just hsooting up to 200 meters so he does not need to have the F1 ^^
awesome, thanks for the info. I'll check the video out
Howdy! My primary recommendation given your price range would be a SWFA SS10X with MRAD turrets. This would be the best value by far and will work great on deer or elk out to 1000m and beyond. This is a straight 10power which would be a great balance for targets at various ranging from 75m to 1200m. Be sure to see my Long Range Optical Parameters videos before you make your scope purchase. 🙂
