  1. no need to get it done at a shop, i was looking to do my ar upper diy with brownells or just cerakote in general and everyone recommended to ship it to a certified shop and pay 5x more. i get it that its done by skilled folks and done the right way so it's not cheap but you can also get away with shop results if you research. did my cerakote process along with baking it etc and only cost 31 for the cerakote with perfect upper so just know that theres options out there not just for diy'ers or if you're a handy dude but if you don't feel comfortable doing it by all means a shop will be the best option and can guarantee their work

  2. Thanks for the video. Very interesting! I always thought it might be a little more elaborate set-up, but Wow, they do turn out some awesome finished products. I know it's two years ago, but can you give a general ball park figure on the cost of a Cerakote job!  For an example, your brother's Grey Cerakote job!  Just for an average idea of what it might cost me, because I've been considering getting one of mine for a long time now, and since I have most of my parts delivered now for my next build (minus maybe the optic and what stock I want to use), and it would be the perfect time to just ship all the brand new parts and  everything over to get Cerakoted before I bother to assemble it. Why even bother!! I can wait another couple or weeks or so to start that particular build! Thanks in advance for any reply or advice!! BTW, been a long time subscriber big tipper on the thumbs ups!PS – CERAKOTE H-SERIES AND TRAINING VIDEO!!! If you haven't already, check it out! Very interesting video from Cerakote! Also there are quite a few more very important steps involved to guaranty a perfect finish with little chance of finished product failure!! After watching that factory video, I wouldn't even attempt this Cerakote job. You mention how difficult this job really is, and man you weren't exaggerating in the least!!!

  3. Might be a dumb question but why would you soak it in acetone to remove oils THEN bead blast it to remove anodizing? Seems like when you bead blast the part the oil would be taken care of. Or do you soak the part in acetone to make the bead blasting easier? Just wondering, thanks.

  4. Really like that distressed look! Now I have another thing I need to do to my rifle. Damn!! You guys are running pistol grips, so I'm assuming your using bullet buttons. How long do we have till we have to be featureless to avoid registration?

  5. It saves a heck of a lot of time if you do the Cerakote before assembly if you're doing a custom build. I did my own and of course made some mistakes along the way like over spraying areas or under spraying areas. It really is hard work. I would say that over 80% of my time was spent on the Cerakote part of my build.

Cerakote is way cool though. Definitely tough stuff too.

  6. How do you dispose of the booth filters? Alsoo the dirty acetone from the wash tank, and the dirty solvent after cleaning and flushing the guns? it's al hazardous material, and regulated by the EPA.

  7. While I was watching the video I thought your brother was you. I kept thinking man he looks different. I did not know it was your brother until you mentioned it. I thought it was funny. Anyway thank you for sharing that with us. Really cool. Have a great day….
