how you mitigate some of the over gassed issue is get an adjustable gas block. I put a JP enterprises adjustable gas block on mine so I can tune and slow down the action. I'll be putting adjustable gas blocks on all my builds from here on out for that reason.
Personally i decided to go with both AR pistol 10.5 and AR rifle 16 inch. I did lots of research on which caliber pistol to build and decided on 5.56/223 simply because of ammo cost. I love to shoot and 300BO is just to expensive. The Spikes H2 buffer should help with the reliability issue and also help to mitigate the violent bolt action a little. I absolutely love shooting this pistol and can hit steel at 100 yard with boring regularity.
