timmybmn is correct, Paul does it right lube it until it needs wiped off. Firearms are not like car engines with an oil pan, filter and pump to keep it lubed. If you don't use you gun for say 4 to 6 months re-lube it. Why you may ask. Well oil will run off of metal surfaces over time. When you service your firearm that oil is all the life blood it has. When the oil is diminished you get wear on contact points, gum and failure. Always use the correct oil of best quality you can find. Same as you car, Never go cheap on lubrication! I have a lower priced SCCY CPX-2, A mid priced Beretta 92 and a high priced Sig Sauer P220. They have never failed so far. But I am the nerdy guy with the high intensity light and a Q-Tip swabbing in the lube to hard to reach locations.
Curious why you didn't strip down the bolt carrier group. I sometimes do and sometimes don't depending on use. I love that you use water and then air dry the heck out of it. I also like how much lube you use. With AR formats I feel like you can really never use too much. I guess if you're in Iraq you don't want a ton of sand in it sticking to all the oil, but if you're in Iraq and that's an issue I would think you'd be cleaning your firearm all the time.
Your videos are a great help. So many people that don't know how to properly clean a firearm, your videos have a lot of good advice!! Thanks for the videos!! Have a great day!!
Great job there Mr.Paul. cleaned and lubed right. And y'all should use as oil as you want dont let the dry barrelers give ya no shit. Lolol Have a good morning and a great day.
