if you are shooting at 1000 yrds then you should probably get a scope that fits your needs
How many yards is 20 power?
Hey man I am curious to know what make and model your rifle is? What kind of rings and bases are you using? Did you loctite everything down? Thanks!
What scopes can you suggest that go over 20x?
Does the monarch scopes have illumination options?
I was going to go with the 4-16 Monarch, but decided on the 3-12 because of the elevation, I needed 50 MOA for 1500 yards and with the 3-12 I just barely had enough to get there with a 20MOA rail. I also have a 2.5-10 Monarch and it performs well on my AR.
Yes. I just ordered mine after watching a video on the Nikon Spot on Free program. Once I shoot some brass thru my Tikka T3 Lite 300wsm andget the casing expanded to my chamber and find a load that works best after reloading. We will then get the velocity from that round coming out of the barrel. Then input all the specs Nikon needs on the Caliber, Grain, Bullet type, velocity, etc, etc, It will print out the ballistics chart and tell you exactly which reticle to use at all ranges up to 600yrds
You really need to use and mention Nikon's Spot-on free online program. It takes all the guess work out. I prefer the Nikoplex retictle with custom turrets made for the particular gun and load.
Thanks for the great review. I am going to buy a 2.5-10X42 or 50 Monarch for a Weatherby Vanguard 2 in .300 Win Mag for deer hunting.
What I'm struggling with is the objective size and the reticle. Would be recommend spending the extra $80 and getting the larger objective? My second question is regarding BDC vs. a standard "Nikoplex" reticle. Given the wide variety of considerations that go into adjusting the scope, would you recommend the BDC for what I'll be using it for?
Thanks!
I am thinking about putting one of these on a browning x bolt in 30-06 that I just bought. Do you think this would be a good scope for that.
FANTASTIC REVIEW!!!! Thanks for the review mate! I'm looking at the Monarch in the 6-24X50, and was looking for a decent review on the scopes and yours is by far the best I've seen. Glad you took the time to make this video, because its pretty much made my mind up 🙂
Ive got a Monarch on my .223 and am very happy with it. Bang for buck a great scope, clarity well Nikon make the best cameras in the world you do the math. Good eye relief but the cost of that is a HUGE eyebox but I havent had a problem with the bolt at all personally I would reccomend getting 1 for their price range.
