300 yards. Backlit target and fading light. EOTech and no magnification. Rack-grade AR15, 16″ barrel. 2007 milsurp FMJ ammo. Just reset the zero from 50 to 36 yards. First range session. Middle-aged eyesight, LOL. What could possibly go right?

How about shooting again, standing and no shooting rest? I wonder if much change if shot has to be done with out the rest and bench?

Everyone is so amazed at a 300yard shot. With a gun rest. I mean rifles do that its kinda hard not to when the rifle is locked in like that
I was doing the same thing this afternoon but at 250. Bought a sig Romeo 5 on sale last night and just quickly zeroed it at 35 yards just Incase I needed it for defense. I put it on my house defense AR pistol because of the auto on setting. That way if my wife ever needs to use it, it would be easy for her. Pick it up, red dot on bad guy, pull the trigger. I got it out this after noon and was shooting a 12 inch gong at 250. Hit it every time. I was tickled to death.

This is why the 36 yard zero by james ryan is a no brainer i use it on all my red dots just point and shoot out to 300.

300 yard isn’t a challenge with a 5.56 it’s a laser at that range
I would love to see you shoot 1:7 or 1:8 twist barrel.

36 yards is a pain to try and do at the local ranges but its a good zero.

Never missed the 300m silhouette in army quals with traditional irons. The 250m was the tough one because of arc overshooting.

I saved up for 3 months to get an Eotech only to have it quit working twice. They gave me a refund after the second time. I’m not a fan. I bought an Aimpont PRO with the refund and it’s been great.
