Building an AR pistol that doesn't suck

I planned on doing this video for a while, I just needed to test this setup enough to believe that it didn’t suck.

  1. Aren’t we glad that there are better arm braces out there than this squishy boat anchor Sig brace? At the current time every brace is better than the Sig brace. Now you can’t give those things away.

  2. Great video. Do you have one that focuses on your night vision set up?

I would also like to see a video about dealing with an AR that is soaked, such as while crossing a river.

  3. I feel like at an outside range that an muzzle brake is ok. It's no louder than a magnum handgun. No? At an indoor range, I agree with you. I won't shoot my braked ARs inside.

  4. I didn't watch the video but I believe massive suction starts with the quad rail. Why make it fat? By all means free float and put rails where you need them. I actually own a quad rail that I got in trade and I want to chuck it in a lathe and wipe out all the rails in the center leaving only the end 6 slots, so it might be useful for something. Probably not worth the effort though.

  5. There is 4 major lower manufacturers and dpms is this one….LAR = Grizzly, Bushmaster (L Prefix), Ameetech, (?)DPMS, CMMG, Double Star, Fulton, Spike's Tactical, Noveske (new). So same quality lower as noveske

  6. Liked your video man. I have a mk18 upper on a PSA pistol lower and it shoots great as well! I haven’t taken it through a course yet but I’m anxious to see how much better I perform compared to my 16” rifle.

  7. Actually the acceptable Accuracy for an issue rifle is 4 MOA. They are to shoot 2 MOA from the factory but once they wear to the point of dropping past 4MOA the barrels are "supposed" to be changed.

  8. That DPMS lower came out of the same forge (Anchor Harvey) as a Daniel Defense lower. As long as the finish machining is to spec there is no quality difference in the forgings. There's only like 4 differnt forges that put out ALL raw forged recivers upper and lowers. It's just a matter of who finished it out. Aero finishes alot of the recivers for alot of OEMs out there too.

  9. i have a pistol build im working on and im buying the best i can afford. my question is 11.5 or 12.5 and whats the most reliable setup i can run. i want my rifle to be smooth and im confused on the cleaning aspect and the upper parts abuse. id like this pistol to last as long as possible but id like the best reliability-longevity balance i can get.

  10. Love your videos brother! If you wanted to put a vertical grip on it you could. ATF states that if you measure from the crown of the barrel to the end of the buffer tube and it's 26" u can aow weapon it with a vfg without registering status change. I have a 10.5" pistol with the KAK setup so I could put a vfg on it but I rock the magwell so often I never bothered putting anything on it yet.
