  1. Excellent and thorough review…thanks. Unfortunately, it's the only option currently available for the Beretta APX Centurion. Ugh. Hopefully Streamlight or Surefire will develop a better option that fits (SOON). Anyway, great review, thanks for sharing it with the community!

  2. I appendix and hip carry G19. A light like the TLR1 is too long to appendix carry for a short guy like me. As long as the APLc is durable, I will be satisfied with 200 lumens. My little stream light micro lights up a room and isn’t even half those lumens. I am just looking for a WML that will allow me to see while holding my pistol with both hands.

  3. While the APLc is well designed just google "aplc drains batteries" and you'll see a bunch of reports of APLc draining the batteries while in storage. To me that's a fatal flaw.

  4. this light completely serves its purpose for home defense, I know that you tested it for outside use, and I agree with pretty much everything you said about it in that regard, but I would have liked to see you mention the viability of this light for confined spaces where distance isn't a concern

  5. It's funny how a lot of people are giving bad comments on this video about this light. Ooohhhh that it's not a duty light is not a home self-defense light when it does it's a job would you rather have this light at night when ur in a shoot out or someone broke in ur house or would you rather be stuck in the dark in a gun fight with no light for the money it's a very nice light and it does its job if you want to spend $600 on a light that's your choice all you're going to get is a little better brightness and a little well made light for $500 more that's crazy I'll stick with the $120 light APL-C Glock baby πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ

  6. Well, wish I’d seen this before I bought my APLc…and got the holsters to fit my guns with it… Good review. Generally I like my APLc and think it should suit my purposes quite well (CCW primarily). Only money for one so after I tried it, decided to stick with it. Picked up a Gen 3 APL for full size guns to keep everything ergonomically consistent. Will look into TLR line in the future. Thanks for the COMPARISONS!

  7. I think this light certainly satisfies the niche of appendix carry with compact handguns. You won’t ever be drawing your edc firearm to identify targets at anything over 15m realistically in an personal defense situation. The lower lumen output is more than adequate for home defense and I actually prefer it to my TLR1-HL which has 800 lumens. That kind of power can blind you just off of the backsplash on a light colored wall. I agree that it is not adequate for duty use, but I don’t think that was ever the intended purpose. Definitely go with a X300u or Tlr1HL for that. Great review otherwise! Looking forward to seeing testing on the Holosun 507c. Keep up the good work

  8. You're missing the point. It's a compact light. For the person who wants/needs something that is better than nothing. If you are running a gun that is pushing your comfort (AIWB CCW) you don't want an extended light. Saying the light isn't as powerful as a full size light, ah duh. Tell me how it does vs. other compact lights. Respectfully, I think you missed the point on this one. Now if you're trying to pick a light for a home defense gun you're 100% right, but why would I be looking at a compact light then?

  9. People seem to forget this light is designed for compact and subcompact pistols. A TLR1 will not for a M&P 9c. This light does. Let me compare a full size light meant for a full size pistol to a light designed for a compact pistol and give you my opinion of this light sucks. Makes sense right? If you want as much light out out as possible strap a SureFire HellBeam light to your pistol. Wait you wouldn’t do that since that light is meant for a M2 .50 cal

  10. ok I think what it may work for some one it may not work for some one else everything has a purpose this product it was built for a purpose for close and personal and as and edc light now in reality let's be honest how many people are going to actually use that light on a daily basis speciallyon the civilian world I think that light is more than enough is practical compact durable and it will serv the purpose but that's my personal intake on it πŸ‘πŸ˜ŽπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

  11. [preparing for backlash]…any reason why a combo light/laser is a bad idea? the TLR-8 is like the inforce, but a tiny bit more candela (4300) and a lot more lumens (500).

  12. Rhetorical question: should a civilian be using a weapon mounted light for target ID? Maybe it's better to rely on a secondary light for target ID–one that does not involve pointing a gun at someone.

  13. This light fills a nich and fills it better than the other options. For most people including law enforcement handgun incidents happen with in personal distances where this light shines bright enough. It is better than no light and its sized doesn't add any further discomfort. If your at a range were the light doesn't illuminate the target it might be a good time to bug out.
