  1. I level my rifle using a spirt level on the action and secure it. Then i have a plumb bob and line up the scope.

I think I'll make one of these and see what the diffence is.

  2. The one I bought has quite a bit of play between the edge of the bubble and the black line… I'm not that impressed with it. I level my rifle with a good level and then plumb bob the crosshair and then tighten my scope rings checking the plumb bob and level at each 1/2 to 1 turn…

  3. Leveling a gun is always imprecise. Its almost better to just eyeball it using a plumb line.
    Too many assumptions
    1. The tiny top of gun bolt area is actual milled level. They usually are close but not level
    2. The cap on the turrets is level with the cross hairs – usually not
    3. The included tiny levels are actually level. Usually not. Take one and sping it and watch the bubble move.
    – All these errors add up.
Nice though but it just does not work.

  4. LAP IN RINGS, REF. EACH:  FT. REAR, LT. RT. FOR REASSY., TORQUE MOUNT SCREWS W/REMOVABLE LOCTITE EVENLY AFTER INSURING ENOUGH EYE RELIEF.  SHOULD GET YOU ON THE PAPER AND STAY ON AFTER ADJUSTING THE SCOPE.

  5. I got this and quickly understood that no matter how flat the top turret caps are, they will never coincide with the leveling of the internal crosshairs.  However, I did find a use for this product on bolt action rifles with short mounting bases.  With low mounts I couldn't fit the level on the mount after the scope was on it.  Having the front clamp level allowed me to keep the rifle level while I place a plumb bob line (bright orange string used) 25 yards downrange.  The front level let me know the bases were level while aligning the crosshairs vertically with the plumb bob line.  So there are some uses for it, just not the way the manufacturer intended.

  6. My point is that the front level is not needed does nothing, since you are leveling gun with the rear level then setting the front level!!! BS waste of your money same bubble level from your hardware store for pennies

  7. Cross hairs in the scopes are not at the same level as the top of the scope where your setting your bubble lever. the best way is to use a plumb line ,look through the scope and line the cross hair to your plumb line that you hang from your wall, another thing I have found out try is if you don't believe me put 5 level's side by side and I bet they will all be different, so use a level that has this spec's Main level vial is graduated to 10 second accuracy one division equals .0005" per foot.

  8. Not many scope turrets are exactly true with the reticle hence the turrets cannot be trusted to give level scope results. the way you levelled the gun is correct, the next step requires a laser leveller which throws a vertical beam perfectly level on the wall about 30 feet away. Now making sure the receiver is still perfectly level, look down the scope and manually rotate it until the reticle is exactly square with the laser plumb line. Recheck the reciever is still also level.
