Fun Gun Reviews Presents:The Vortex Spitfire 1x Prism Scope. Designed specifically for the AR-15/ M4 rifle. It has a 10 setting illuminated reticle in Red and green but it also features an Etched reticle that is a great back up feature. I want to thank 3 Rivers Precision for supplying the Spitfire for the review.

  1. anyone have an idea on how to minimize the light coming out of the scope? I bought it for hunting, but there is a lot of light coming out of the red dot, afraid deer will see it. I called vortex, and they said that there is no kill flash. hard to see the reticle with the power off.

  2. Hey sootch00. I really enjoy your content. Have a quick question. I just purchased the vortex spitfire 3x. Was wondering if you could recommend a quick release mount for it. Thank you very much. Be strong. Be of good courage. And long live the republic

  3. I just watched the review for the third time, well done and worth the watch. I noticed that is some cases you were using some kind of table rifle mount to steady the AR. What kind of mount were you using?

  4. I have both the 1X Spitfire (as shown) as well as the 3x Spitfire (as mentioned)…I am 100% pleased with both. The 3X reticle is "busier" with the ranging marks than the 1X, which is a simple circle and dot…but both are clear and crisp, illuminated or not. This is a good solid review on a good product produced by a company with a good reputation for customer satisfaction. It's true they are imported, but Leupold no longer makes their prismatic scopes, so imported is what we have left at a reasonable price point for etched reticle optics. Again, I am satisfied with Vortex…they may be reasonably priced, but they are not "cheap" optics.

  5. Have you tried this sight with a 308 cal rifle? I've heard that the marks on the Reticle are only accurate using a 22cal, this just didn't seem right to me.
