Today, the California Department of Justice issued a “Notice of Modification” to their proposed regulations regarding the soon to be implemented ammunition background check procedures. As a result of these changes, a second 15-day public comment period has been initiated. We are currently reviewing the proposal and will update members on the effect of these changes.
In the meantime, DOJ will be accepting public comments between April 18, 2019 and May 3, 2019. We encourage our members to submit comments on the proposal to the following:
