I just got my CMMG .22 conversion in today. I shot about a 100 rounds before this video was taken. I was using Federal Ammo which caused a LOT of jams. Ive heard from other sources that only high quality, high velocity CCI ammo is preferred to reduce jams. After some break in and a lot of lube, I could get it to shoot a couple mags without jamming. This was my girlfriends first time shooting an AR 15 and she had only shot about 20 rounds before this video was taken. I thought she did well! She hit a coke bottle off hand at about 75 yards! And that is with me pressuring her! What a shot!
I was also very pleased to find that this kit shot low velocity, sub-sonic CB rounds as long as I cycled the bolt each shot. It even shot super colibri rounds without jamming in the barrel! Super colibri rounds have no gun power, only priming powder so they are SUPER quiet. They tend to get stuck in my Bolt Action .22s 18 barrel occasionally if it hasnt been cleaned recently, but the 14.5 inch .223 diameter AR-15 barrel shot the super Colibri after over 100 shots of regular .22 ammo without a jam. Awesome!
Specifically with a super colibri load there is no real noise… it's as quiet as a suppressed 22lr in a movie
As long as you switch back to 223 to clear the carbon gunk from your gas tube with 2-3 rounds it shouldn't cause any problems at all. However, if your barrel is 1:7 twist, your accuracy will be pretty low at longer ranges. A 1:10 twist would be better for the light weight 22lr, a 1:9 should do alright. You might want to get a ballistics expert's opinion, I'm just going from experience having multiple barrels / diff twist rates
Who cares about hearing protection with a .22… Its good to see that girls like shooting guns man!!! My conversion kit should be here tomorrow! cant wait it take it out and try it out..
@thenodnarb Hearing police? I don't think I ever said that you should or should not wear hearing protection did I? I could care less about your ears. I just put some numbers out.
@scuds03
oh snap. Here comes the hearing police.
I suppose if I put my ear up next to the muzzle, it would be 134 db but behind the muzzle sounds and in an open area, it sounds like an air gun.If it were a confined space, Like an indoor range, then yes. Outside, not so much. And a .22 is an impulse sound, so it doesn't cause as much damage as the same db level of a constant noise. Listening to music with headphones on is above 85 Db, but you got to do it for a while before hearing damage occurs
@swedishvolvo Permanent hearing damage starts with sounds at 85 DB. .22LR out of a 16 inch barrel produces an average of 134 DB. Just putting the facts out there.
@thenodnarb Well I am just not sure what to do.Anyway thanks for the info and shoot on.
@pshaw61
In retrospect I should have gotten the dedicated upper. A dedicated upper works the same but has much better accuracy. not that much more expensive in the long run.
BTW the blag dog magazines suck. I need to find a magazine with some metal feed lips. Mine broke just from storing 10 rds in the mag.
I want to get one of theses kits but not sure if it will hurt my ar???cheaper then getting a new upper for sure but is it worth it?Thanks for the vid as it looks like you where having fun….
I see a certified zombie killer!
she's a dork and a keeper, you have a good one man!
hot
It's a .22 dude, even if something managed to go wrong I don't think anyone is going to get hurt. Heck you don't even need ear protection when shooting a .22
finally someone who knows how to use an adjustable stock. notice the joy on her face when she connects with the target. instant satisfaction one of the things you get when target shooting. stay safe and have fun you two
Way to fail on the eye protection.
she has a great smile =) it's nice to see a smile than all these other tough guy videos
