  1. With the onslaught of attacks on gun ownership and the 2nd Amendment, I'm surprised that you and other gun channels haven't picked up a leading role to fight back against the ongoing BS being thrust upon the American gun owners.
But I guess none of you are true Americans any farther than your own bank accounts, EH?

  2. Here in Ireland the I.R.A used the AR10 in the early 60s 70s against British soldiers, and there was a rumour that Irish American marines sympathetic to the ira's cause came here and trained them on the weapons they smuggled over.

  3. I noticed you had the rear sight on the long range aperture. Could that be why you had to crank the front sight down so much? I never could understand why they started putting vent holes the whole length of the handguard on the bottom after the M16A1. I think there was a reason they didn't have them at the rear on the bottom so you could put your hand there and not get quite as hot. Even though I do remember getting the A1 hot enough not to hold even without the holes on the bottom but that was just when I was burning through 7 magazines. I guess if all the modern handguards have holes the whole length on the bottom it probably doesn't matter where you hold it but I would think it would be hotter toward the gas block.

  4. It happened! it finally happened. 25-round straight AR magazines–and they function reliably!

After seen a few threads over the years on ar15.com and other forums where guys had found old 25-round prototype magazines, or had even made up their own (as recently as 2018), someone has finally reproduced them for sale to the entire community.

As someone who loves retro AR's and 'Nam era variants especially (629, anyone?), I am very excited for Brownell's expanding retro line and can't wait to run a BRN-605 dissipator with these 25-round magazines and a chopped CAR-15 stock for an extra-compact length when collapsed.

  5. Thanks to you and alot of the youtube firearms reviewers, and my tax return, I am getting the 601! The Proto, with its plain and slick look, will be next! I know, the 601 is sleek too but, that charging handle can stick out. Yet, sticking out, is what you get with the A1's, A2's and A4's. That trigger-charging handle, though I bet gets hot after a couple of mags, stays out of the way. I like that! Again, SLICK! Great video! Keep running them hard!

  6. Very nice replica overall. I want one. I understand using an updated rifle buffer but an early edgewater buffer would've been neat. But maybe that would've caused cycling issues, idk, I'm not an expert.

  7. I wholeheartedly agree with the notion that the high tech tacticool ARs are boring and Im a younger guy, only 29. Ive just gotten into ARs in the past year and just about done with my first build: an M16A4, in its original configuration with the A2 handguard. Im not a fan of bulky quad rails and fancy mlok stuff. Ive always been attracted to the stock military look pre-2000s. My first gun at 18 was a WASR-10 that I kept bone stock, i remember my friends saying it was lame for not have all the rails and gadgets on it.

  8. I don't need all the fancy doohickees either! Just straight black powder in a barrel I made down by the crick! And those fancy bullets are for panzies I just use rocks! Rawr look how retro cool I am!
