  1. There a very few companies that have approval to investment cast the hammer and trigger . Yes these parts are cast not machined , hence the grade of casting steel used . These are probably cast by the same company but from different wax injection molds . Investment casting produces very good finishes depending on the slurry used . But these parts are finished with a coarse finish for a reason , they have to be handled in the field when it's raining . A slick finish all over is not a good idea . The trigger shoe should not be slick for the same reason . The pins are ground O1 or other round tool steel oil hardening drill rod which of course is centrepieces ground when you buy it . It is not a process the FCG manufacturers do. It just sounds good . The disconnector is a ground guage stamping hardened and tempered after perhaps surface ground with a shim grinder to spec and polished before blacking or manganese phosphating . The stock contact points on trigger and hammer are case hardened . When these areas are polished the depth of case hardening is compromised. The ideal would be to case harden , carbonitride or tuftride the contact points after polishing . In this case they use coating over the whole piece mainly for ' the look' . Being 0.001" oversize pins , they are using 4mm ground tool steel ,which is what I have been using for years . As with steels it is better to use 2 different surface treatments on the contact areas to resist galling or bonding . When coatings are used , say NiB on the trigger and TiN on the hammer. There are many to choose from including plasma and electroless finishes . The disconnector , being black manganese phosphate or just blackened polished steel and oil , is a third different finish which is fine and won't cause a problem . A manganese phosphate with polished contact would be better as the fine surface pores from this process hold lube and does not allow it to run off requiring less oil which attracts dust and combustion products . Between 2 NiB surfaces just a drop on the pivot is all you need .

  2. I'm new n building my ar 2 questions what size pins do I use i want to purchase anti roll pins which states small or large pin hole and should I replace the springs with jp?

  3. I just installed one, the pins suck. I ended up using the old ones until I call BCM for some new ones. And the reset is super loud, I thought there was something wrong with it until I heard the reset on here. Going to the range this week, I'll post an update.

  4. hey all out there which would you perfer the spikes nickel trigger , this bcm pnt trigger, wmd trigger with jp springs, or the pof drop in trigger ? the alg is out with a .155 pin , so kns anti-walk can not be used with the alg . please give me your comments thank you

  5. Great info but without a measurement at the end the review is a little hard to get an accurate idea. "From what I can tell" isn't as helpful as it could be. Also not being side by side is hard to really judge things. I've tried the BCM in a Bravo Company gun and it was a good trigger. I have one on order but I want to try some JP yellow springs with it. It will be for competition and limited self defense purposes. Still really appreciate you doing this. A couple of small editions and this would be over the top helpful. A trigger gauge next thing you need to have.

  6. I sent the lower to Bravo and it was received today. A technician, Troy, called me and I explained the problem I had. About 30 minutes later Troy called back. The problem was my lower, which is about 15 years old, does not use the .154 trigger pins. It uses the older .164 pins which caused the failure. It is a Colt LE carbine, but I didn't know it isn't Milspec.I'm glad that Ben from Bravo contacted me in this matter. I just wish it didn't take as long as it did.

  7. After sending another email and the posting below I was contacted by BCM. The director of customer service assured me that the company does take my issue seriously and we have worked out a possible remedy to the problem. He also apologized regarding the failure in their communication in this matter. I'll keep you posted.

  8. I purchased the PNT from Brownells. The first one malfunctioned to wit; During reset the hammer sear did not engage and fired a second round. I checked it and did another live fire check and it went full auto dumping the 6 round mag.
Bravo Company did not help me. After sending 3 emails they finally asked for pictures. I sent pictures and video, then never heard back from them regarding the issue, but Brownells did take care of the problem. I asked for a replacement as whats the chance you would get another bad trigger. Well I did. this one didn't pass the function check on the bench. Sorry the PNT is too much of a liability and going back for a refund tomorrow.
